Yeah i'm sure this will go over reeeeal well. There are chinese hackers defacing american websites just because they're so pissed at us (for whatever reason), and I don't think that the general chinese opinion of american culture is very high. THUS, i don't really understand how a company called frigging AMERICA online is going to have luck in CHINA.
Interestingly, the UW CSE department(http://www.cs.washington.edu) uses something like this to check compiled code for similarities. Apparently last quarter a lot of kids got in trouble for cheating, but I don't have any more information.
Since i started using Dvorak (a few weeks ago) i have noticed a significant increase in comfort and a reduction in motion. I've been doing quite a bit of programming, too and it's really nice for that. (Good semi-colon placement!) Just something to think about if you feel that you're not getting all possible performance from your keyboard, or from your wrists and fingers for that matter.
That's pretty cute... this thing we threw up there *twenty nine years ago* is still working, but the last couple probes we've slapped together can't even make it to the next planet. i wonder why the tech community in general has become so lax as of late. i read articles about the way people used to write computer programs like badasses making sure every bit was accounted for. now, we don't even learn how to use dynamic memory in our C class. sad, sad times...
...just go to college, live in the dorm, and you don't have to worry about it anymore! I get ethernet, cable, telephone, utilities, maid, Lake Washington, the Cascades, Mt. Rainier, and *food* for less than you cheeses pay to live in a box for a month.
I'm planning on staying in college for a while... there are a bunch of professional degrees, right? Collect 'em all!
or even instead of strapping shit onto the back of your hand, put a sort of "ring" around your finger. it seems like the fingor is sufficiently round as to support such an object. you know... the more i talk about this, the more familiar it sounds....
well "to each his own" i guess.... i use opera religously now and i find myself trying to use gestures in all other programs that i use. i think that it really lets the mouse live up to its capabilities.
Well why not take it a little further and suggest that everyone spend their time picking up garbage and teaching illiterate people to read? For christ sake, calm down a little. There's nothing wrong with someone having a little fun and trying to do something crazy.
yeah i'm pretty sure they just started including the gesture support in 5.10, because i had 5.02 and they didn't work in that version. just something to think about.
man i SOO want to see the day that we have a GUI like that thing in hackers. little packets of data flying around the room and people getting into the garbage file and hax0ring stuff. aww YEAH.
I see a lot of complaints about stories not being "news for nerds" or "stuff that matters" and I'd have to say that this story is the worst one in quite a while... We've got reviews of some silly movies, for which we can find reviews anywhere, and which do not pertain to technology, nerds, or and really just don't matter.
Having a damn flash rom disk hanging off of my keychain sure as shit isn't sexy... maybe a fingerprint thing or something, but i don't need more shit dangling off my keychain.

Now we have to pay to see if simple ideas are legal to come up with and produce.

And when you click on the graphic in the middle of their homepage, up pops a pic of a keyboard, windows keys and all.

yeah that's what i do, too... i just kind of think "oh shit i don't want to do that, scratch it out".

Better than that, you can report the bastards that send you the forwards and have them arrested!

LOL. Maybe Poppy would have been better? Who the hell would say Python in Palm instead of Python on Palm?
Have you seen Demolition Man? Someone probably said the same thing you just said about 30 years before they outlawed salt.
What is to stop someone from mirroring the sites? Sounds like this could balloon quickly out of proportion...
sounds like a question in my physics class.. i hate that class so much.

YOU BADASS! Office Space.. fucking BEST MOVIE i've ever seen.
yeah it would suck about as bad as taking a photo of the computer screen, which will also always be possible.
