An SD card may not be important for as many people anymore, but a removable battery could extend the life of a phone by several years. A removable battery easily adds $100 value to a phone IMO.
They probably can't guarantee it, but some people will buy the "official" whatever, even if there are better 3rd party brands available. They don't care if some of the extra money you spend goes elsewhere, as long as some of it comes to them and increases their profits.
I'm curious for how many people though no headphone jack is a big enough turn-off that customers will look away. Probably depends on the customer. For me, if I had two phones available with similar specs, but one was slightly thinner than the other, but the other had a headphone jack- I'd pick the headphone jack. I wouldn't pay $50 extra or buy a substandard phone just to get a headphone jack.
It stands to reason that anyone reading or participating in any of these articles already has an internet connection and a reason for having that connection other than watching television.
I can read Slashdot from my phone, but I can't afford a dataplan on my phone that would allow my family to stream TV through my phone account. Maybe if I lived in Europe where they have insanely cheap data plans it would work. I'm not sure a phone connection would work for 2 or 3 people all streaming different TV at once even then,
Yes, and the same company that had a monopoly on cable TV are also the same companies that have the monopoly on broadband ISP.
When I first cancelled my cable TV subscription, I was paying so much less overnight. The problem is, as other people have followed suit and "cut the chord" TWC has started charging more for internet service to make up for losing TV subscribers.
Now I'm paying the same amount for Internet that I used to pay for cable TV and internet... and then I have Netflix on top of that.
As long as cable companies are allowed to run local monopolies, they're going to get you one way or another. My cable company just happens to be the only broadband capable of streaming TV in my area. Unless Google decides to move into town, I'm screwed paying high prices if I want to watch anything other than over-the-air shows.
Allowing cable company monopolies was one of the most anti-consumer things the government did in regards to entertainment.
Sorry, not sure why I wrote Ice Cream (although one of the varieties of Banana is called the Ice Cream because it tastes like Ice Cream)... I obviously meant "pick from multiple varieties of banana.
It's actually more likely that bananas will go extinct. The Cavendish banana is seriously threatened from a new strain of Panama Disease. The Gros Michel banana was wiped out in the 1960s by Panama Disease, and was replaced by the inferior Cavendish banana. The Cavendish banana is a monoculture with no genetic diversity, naming it vulnerable to the new strain of Panama Disease, known as Tropical Race 4. It also affects some other varieties of bananas, making them quite vulnerable, too. Bananas, as we know them, are actually in danger of extinction.
The elimination of the Cavendish from mass production might be the best thing that could happen. Rather than the bland Cavendish having a near monopoly in the West we might see the introduction of some of the more tastier varieties that are being kept out of the market because the Cavendish is cheaper and what everyone thinks a banana is supposed to taste like. Just like I can pick my variety of apple, (Braeburn thank you), I long for the day I can pick from multiple varieties of Ice Cream.
That was my immediate impression too. Is there any reason they would call it 18:9 and not 2:1? Or 6:3, 12:6.
Is this like Heinz "57 Varieties", where the 57 was chosen at random because the owner thought it sounded good, and had nothing to do with how many varieties they actually had.
Putting into perspective, fewer people are directly impacted by the crimes of your "millions of young angry immigrants in Europe" than are struck by lightening. So whereas finding the bad eggs is important, it isn't so important that the government shut down everything else until we round them all up and not tackle any other issues. A functional government can handle multiple things at a time.
Yeah, because no one wants to work with teenagers.
For a starring role, yeah, if actress X has appeal, they'll sign her. But for smaller roles "Hot Teacher #2" or "Coffee Shop Girl", the barely speaking parts, the casting crew will probably have a lot more applicants, and a lot of people who are unknown applying. They will want a quick way to filter out applicants. A director might give the instruction to filter out anyone over 30.
From what I recall, the actress who brought all this to attention in the first place was a bit-part actress, no-one famous.
I don't recall. I'm also not sure where IMDB got their information either, obviously they got it from legit sources, they did nothing wrong, but the woman was angry because her information was revealed, so I don't think (but not sure) that her information was easily accessible to the average Joe not doing a lot of searching.
I think this is changing though. You see a lot of leading roles for older women now then you did 20 years ago. It will probably never catch up the number of roles for older men, but they are getting more roles.
Bad people suck.
Good people swallow.

An apple movie? How about a remake of:
I, Robot? I, Frankenstein? I know what you did last summer? I married an axe murderer?
They're my favourite kind of mushroom.
Why not both? Bananas and Ice Cream. There is enough room in this world for both.

They didn't sell many lightning cables before Apple made it a standard either.

No, do NOT replace the pieces. Emojis and hashtags are for fucking retards who don't know how to communicate properly.
:-O
#shocked
I hate how Hasbro has a monopoly on Monopoly.
Damn "Big Teeth" they've got their fingers in every pocket.
As long as it is screens that are vibrating and oozing stuff. There is another vibrating industry that I hope doesn't start oozing stuff.

Unless they can charge more than they do for fillings (or at least make more profit), I don't see this taking off in the US.
Privacy impacts every one.

I demand precision to the nearest day!
I know that was a joke article by the Onion, but they do actually sell 5 bladed razors... actually they're up to 7 now.
http://www.dorcousa.com/pace-7...
Soon razors will be so big and have so many razors they'll be bigger than your face.
Sorry, I was with your wife that night, she has a rock solid alibi.
... and I was with the Goldendoodle.
This *could* be a publicity stunt to keep "three display laptop" meme bouncing around in the `news'.
Until Gillette produce competition against Razer, with a 4 screened monitor next year.
