And you can see how much people care about it based on their response. At time I posted this (hours after it was first added) it's still only 28 posts. No one cares about Yet Another social media/ Yet another review site.
"If an Uber driver just wants to drive a few hours here and there and is fine with netting less than $10/hr after expenses, should the government stop him? These are some of the questions that must be answered."
Why would the gov stop him?
Honestly, I don't care too much for the plight of the uber driver. They knowingly work for a corrupt and immoral company. They're the 21st Century equivalent of the 20th Century telemarketer. You work for evil- I don't care if someone pretends to only speak French with a smattering of English to you- or alternates between whispering and shouting when talking to you. I also don't care how little you get paid whilst supporting evil.
Actually, I can't help but feel like China and Russia missed their chance to nuke us!
Everyone was expecting a test this afternoon... if China and Russia nuked us, everyone would see the message and think "oh, it's only a test we're not really getting bombed..."
The Amber Alert system already gets abused all the time, why wouldn't this be abused as well?
That probably depends on where you are. I don't feel like the Amber Alert system is abused where I am. I've probably had four amber alerts in the last year.
As for, will this be abused: hasn't this been in place since Obama era- and this is the very first test of it? So far it doesn't look like it is being abused. Maybe that will change... I will worry about it when that happens.
I'm not a fan of Trump, but there is no indication this will become his "new twitter". An alert system that can warn of a national threat is not a bad idea. An abused one is- but so far no evidence of abuse.
I don't want an Amazon device that's capable of listening to me, thanks. That's why we have ye olde fire stick with the non-microphone remote.
Depends on what you mean by "trust"... You don't have an android or apple phone? You don't have a Microsoft or Apple OS computer?
What little it records when I've pressed the button a whole 4 or 5 times is far less invasive than any smart phone or what happens when you access a web browser or use a laptop or desktop.
I'm sure Amazon tracks everything I watch, how long I spend on each screen etc... That's no different to any time you pick up a phone or power on a computer though to me. You don't think your cable company tracks what you watch? Or whoever else it is you get TV from.
With a base of active users that's 25 million strong, it's launching the Fire TV Stick 4K, delivering Ultra HD and HDR streaming through an HDMI dongle that costs a modest $50.
Cool, sounds interesting!
The stealthy device isn't as affordable as Roku's $40 Premiere, but it's also billed as the first media stick to support Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. You won't have to settle for lower-quality output just to save some cash or avoid using your TV's built-in apps.
It's great for those who want these features.
The device also ships with Amazon's newer Alexa Voice Remote...
I stopped reading after that.
Fail.
The remote isn't always on like the dots and echos. You have to press a button to activate the voice thingy.
With that said- it doesn't really work well at all and we just use the buttons to navigate like we do with our Roku.
I couldn't begin to comment on whether it is science or pseudoscience with any authority. However, I can only hope that if it is pseudoscience that they might discover something useful by accident whilst studying it.
I'm sure the ideas of computers and self driving cars were considered pseudoscience or science fiction once upon a time.
Where can I sell my own account myself? I'd honestly rather have 10 chicken mcnuggets than a facebook account anyway.
This. I will create a facebook account if I can sell it. So far I've not seen any point in making a facebook account- but I will if people pay me for them.
I will pass on the Chicken McNuggets though, I don't like McDonalds.
Size is also important. Lidar currently requires large "warts" to be added to cars. For taxis and google cars this is fine, for people's personal transportation it has to be invisible.
Depends on the person. "Appearance" for some people plays a big role. For others, such as myself. Appearance means very little. I'd drive something as ugly as the old Pontiac Aztec IF it were otherwise the best vehicle for me.
$15 is probably fine most places in the US if you're only supporting yourself. I imagine in places like Bay area in California, or New York $15 is really hard to live on. Rural America $15 is easy to live on for 1 person if you don't have rich tastes.
In this case it is capitalism because Amazon is doing it to keep hold of it's workforce and probably to have a better public image so it will sell more crap. The government isn't forcing Amazon's hand so it is capitalism.
I suspect they will have issues with bullet holes in the cameras in the western states.
I remember in college a friend of mine and I used to like going on road trips just randomly taking back roads anywhere. One night we ended up all the way over in Alabama (from SC) taking only back roads all the way there. We had a huge laugh at the "Welcome to Alabama" sign- it was right out of a stereotype- riddled with bullet holes.
Not sure about other states, but Michigan doesn't require a front license plate. They must be mounting these on the rear and recording after you have gone by.
Most Southern states don't require a front license plate either.
roads are under posted just try to do the limit of 55 on I-294 when it's wide open.
In most areas if you post a speed limit as 45 everyone will do 55. If you post a speed limit of 55 everyone will do 65.
In some areas it's more than that. I'm not familiar with I-294 - but if it's like the I-285 around Atlanta which has similar speed limits- it's a bit of a joke and the speed people travel is way higher than the limit. Many going above 80. Realistically the police probably could raise the speed limit- it's not like they even try and enforce the speed limit anyway- no one gets pulled over for speeding on I-285. The reason the speed is so ridiculously low is because they don't want to be sued for having a high speed limit in a heavy traffic area.

Advertise all they want. Noone cares anymore.

"Our President is human. He occasionally mistypes words like 'coverage'."
Would that have been a better way for Spicer to have handled it?
That would have been accurate and understandable and no one would really have a major fault with the president over that.
Spicer just came across as a buffoon with his explanation.
That's the same argument spammers came up with years ago and continue to use to this day. Fuck that.
It's one message years after this was created and advertised that it would happen weeks in advance. It's really not that big a deal.
Was anyone ever able to figure that one out?
According to Spicer it was a well thought out message and the people who it was intended for knew exactly what it was meant to say.
(I found Spicer's brown-nosing about the situation more amusing than the typo itself).
I've uninstalled twitter because I didn't want to have to read presidential tweets and now this.
Wireless Emergency Alert System - Covfefe
If it bothers you that much, turn your phone off for a few minutes- it's not like they haven't been warning us about this for weeks,
You trust Amazon? That's cute.

This is a test, it is not a real emergency. Democrats are meanies and poopie heads - sad

Automobiles will never replace the horse and buggy.

They are also collecting photos of me making an obscene gesture at every one of these signs I pass.
Around here most people try and get the high score when passing one of those electronic speed signs.
I give my nemesis' name and work number
That works even better! Now all I need is a nemesis.
I'm not sure I like Facebook having ANY presence in the classroom even if it's trying to help.
Surely we can get more growth by having internet connected tablets for pets or something.
My pets are way too smart to waste time online.
