    Oh yes, fuck-nuts wrote it, check out his disclaimer:

    Seems the bugs in his software are not due to him being an untalented perl monkey, they are in fact down to the user. Wow now there is the Linux spirit in action!

    I program for a living and for fun and any help that an ide can provide in making my job just a little easier is welcome. I would rather spend an hour reading a book, going for a walk or being with my girlfriend than breaking my wrist typing some obscure commands into emacs and feeling oh so 'leet'.

    The whole 'I use vi and gcc in xterms' mentatility is why there are no good development environments on Linux or ever will be. Oh Im sure its nice to be stuck in the 70's, but to be honest I've got better things to be doing.

    No it comes from the fact that computers are better at doing boring tasks like copying files, configuring settings and tinkering with registry entries.

    The purpose of any piece of software is to make life easier or to accomplish a task, not to act as a challenge for some social miscreant that will never move out of his parents basement.

    The name is intended to make slashbots bite. Appears to work. Actually I develop in whatever does the best job for whatever platform is most suitable. Therefore Linux and C rarely seem to be of much use to me.

    Well I've just loaded a 47.5Mb csv file into excel and it worked without any problem and took less than a minute, in fact I was able to continue coding in forte without any hitches or slowdown.

    In fact here we can sometimes generate upwards of 100Mb csv files which load fine. In fact I think your full of shit.

    Compared to the limp along performance on Linux? You have to be a real zealot ready to ignore the blatant evidence to say that Java on Linux is awful, particuarly SWING performance... The better network performance of Linux makes it suitable for hosting Java servers but for client side you can forget it

    Before anyone flames me, I code a lot of Java and I currently develop in it for a living and have done it under both Linux and Windows so I can speak with some authority on the matter.

    as much as i love the article " how to have sex with a computer" i really feel a womans perspective is in order, u will have to excuse the crap as i am blonde and very regulary have memory lapses, I also have very little knowledge on computers.

    however getting back to the point, the floppy disk drive despite the edges did u consider the size??i also feel that lubricant is quite possibly in order (one that won't damage the computer) I also think this site is for geeks, is it not? i know my boyfriend is who regulary reads the articles on this site, so therefore it must mean that u dont get out very often as u have very little knowledge on REAL SEX my real message that i want to put across is please please get out more and u to like so many others can enjoy the pleasures that only a woman can bring- yes to sex and no to cyber!!!!

    Its worse than that. All you actually need is to get deeply involved in your local branch of Labour/Tories/Lib Dems and then wait for the MP to resign. I swear this is how the local parties do it, they then just basically have a big popularity contest and in safe labour or tory seats the local branch is basically responsible for who gets elected.

    Not a troll just curious! I never did get why people collect old 8 bit machines, my room is full of 486/low pentiums but they are still damn useful as mail servers/fire walls etc.. perhaps I shouldnt have sold my speccy for a PC when I was a kid and then I might understand.
