...without mention of the Boulder Kinetics race, which has been run every year since 1979. While not the original according to this page, it still predates Baltimore's by 19 years.
I also concur. You may want to ask Rape Crisis teams or women's shelters in your area if they want phones as donations. My sister-in-law volunteered as a counsellor for one, and they always accepted donations of cell phones.
I just wanted to second the recommendation for GIAC.
I've learned a lot from SANS/GIAC, and as the number of GIAC certified professionals grow, I believe it will be a valuable certification to have.
I would rate the GIAC certifications as moderately hard to acquire -- not as hard as CISSP, but definately harder than certs like MCSE.
As I sit here waiting for my copy of OpenBSD 3.0 to arrive, I've been reading the exchange of emails between Theo and the NetBSD core team, which is a history of how OpenBSD came to be.

My boss had an installation scheduled for tomorrow morning. They let him know this morning that it was cancelled. Bummer.
He had the same reason for getting ION as I would have if it were available in my area -- not having to pay a single cent to Qwest for their consistenly crappy service. That alone would have made it worthwhile for me.

As an added bonus, I've got a LinuxFund card, which has the cute penguin on it, and seems to impress lots of sales clerks. :)
Yes, a mainframe would be overkill for serving email for 700 people.
However, you can take an online tour if that floats your boat.
