    this is obviously some strange usage of the word "stable" that I wasn't previously aware of.

    The problem is that most states and the federal govt do not get enough money from gas taxes to fund roads, bridges and other transport infrastructure.
    Apparantly just increasing the gas tax (while gas prices are low) is not politically possible.

    In this case the shadow is in front of the pulse of light that was the big bang.
    We will never be able to see further than that since it is moving away at the speed of light.
    Unless we can invent a (much) faster than light drive, and go chase it down.

    I think you are missing the word 'commercial' in that statement.

    For military flight, cost isn't such a big issue.

    CO2 levels started increasing during the industrial revolution when we started burning coal for fuel instead of wood.
    This was long before the UN or even the League of Nations

    Nut an increase in greenhouse gas is a problem
    which you msy hsve noticed if you live in the west (drought)

    The amount is way less howevere.

    Also cars mostly run on fossil fuel that has been in the ground for millions of years.
    Humans are fueled by plants or animal protein that has recently been carbon in the atmosphere. Its not an addition to the amount of carbon that is around.
