    I thought that for a short time after the big bang there was a period of 'inflation' when the universe expanded faster than light.
    But its not expanding like that now.

    And how many customs officials do they have on duty at AKL anyway? do they have time to go through all 300+ passengers phones/tablets/laptops?

    And of course you could keep you sensitive data on a 64GB microSD card, easy enough to hide, and just have a card in the machine with your music and ebooks to keep you amused on the long flight. (its about 12 hrs from LAX)

    So are they responsible for the breach just before Christmas 2013 that exposed millions of credit card details?

    Target should sue them, and there could be a class action lawsuit from the affected customers.
    And the 1700 workers that were fired in the Twin Cities the other day should get some of the damages too.

    The death penalty should only be used when there is absolutely no doubt of guilt.
    There are cases that qualify, where the murderer is caught in the act, like some of these mass shootings.

    And as for method, well a high velocity large calibre bullet through the head would seem to be pretty reliable and humane.
    We aren't going to run out of .50 cal bullets and the manufacturers are not going to say "you can't kill someone with our product"

    With climate change, there is more energy in the atmosphere - higher wind speeds.

    We won't be able to harness all of this increase of course, generally wind turbines can't handle tornadoes for example.

    I personally think that vertical wind turbines (that look like an egg beater sticking up, rather than a large propeller ) are the way to go.

    "Tires actually get more efficient as they get hot. You don't want to be cooling your tires. Heat raises the internal pressure and it makes the rubber more flexible, both of which reduce rolling losses. "

    If tires get too hot then they wear out quicker, and you will lose traction, and have to box and change them.

    Maybe it made sense last century, but not anymore.
    With modern efficient lighting (CFL and LED) there is no significant 'savings' of electricity.

    Hours of work are no longer limited to 8:30a to 4:30p

    But it is the best at doing that one thing , and that one thing (supporting ground troops) is something that we still need to do in the esrs we are hoing to be fighting (against ISIS and Al Qaeda who do not have an air force.) we don't need fast, stealthy fighters like the F35 aginst terrorists.

    And we are not going to be fighting a conventional war against China or Russia where we would need the F35.
