  1. Which paper size? on HTML Tags For Academic Printing? · · Score: 1

What size paper would we all agree upon? You listed "A4", I like "Letter". Close in size, but different. Get the world to agree, and maybe you have you wish one step closer. I'd not vote for "Business Card" sized.

  2. Canon Color machines. on Color Laser Printers Tracking Everything You Print · · Score: 2, Interesting

Print a Windows Test Page with the color logo in the corner. Use a 10x jewelers scope and a bright flashlight (LED works. Where there is NO print, focus on the paper fibers. You can see the many very tiny yellow dots. 1/600 dpi is really tiny.

Also, the 'chip' recognises USA and foreign currency, and will discolor any duplication slightly off (ie. greens will be dark or too light). Btw, SS contacts Canon who said to who they shipped the machine. Dealer had better know who they shipped it too.

I went to a Novell training/brainwashing seminar last week. They handed out beta GW6.5 and an additional CD you will be looking forward too getting. Novell ZENworks for Handhelds. This looks very promising, but it was a good demo.

My Wife and I drove past a Water Meter reader for the City of Seattle 3 weeks ago. She took a picture as we drove past. Her "out the window" shot of a quickly moving Segway. If you are wondering it was in Ballard just north of Market St.

  6. Re:Hmm. on Re-Building the Wright Flyer · · Score: 1

You could also go down and ride in a replica Wright 'B' flier at the Dayton/Wright Brothers airport. (Near I75-I675 split) Can't miss it, they drew the faces of the brothers on the side of the building!
For $600, (donation to upkeep/rent/etc) they will strap you in the 2nd seat, taxi to one end of the run way, and fly to the other end, and taxi back.
It is 60% original, as the FCC will not allow a fully wooden aircraft to be certified.
They do fly it on rare occasions from their airport to the WPAFB ~30 miles north, and load it into a C-5 (or some other huge plane) for special shows. It was wild seeing this thing rock back and forth as I was driving I-675, seeing is believing!

  7. Article misquotes Samuel Morse, slightly on Happy Birthday! Email Is 30 Years Old · · Score: 1

As I was reading, realised that the quote was sightly wrong. The correct version is "What hath God wrought", same words, capitalized correctly. He quoted from the Bible, (book of) Numbers 23:23, per the Library of Congress.

  8. Geocities had hole in May on Hacker Tinkering With Yahoo Stories · · Score: 2, Insightful

Using my (pre-yahoo buyout) account at Geocities, I accidently got root level access to one of their servers this past May (via ftpfs in MC, zipslack 3.9) Took them two weeks to figure out the security hole, while they watched me hit their ftp server @ ft6.geo.yahoo.com! They thanked me, but never sent the goodies my way. (ask jkb about that)
