IBM has been known to look for alternatives from MS. They've develeoped their own OS before that died a horrible death. I want to see some of the other prefabs offer linux solutions such as gateway, compaq, HP, etc.
I'm really sorta surprized that head mounted displays never took off. I really thought after seeing lawn mower man (the first one, not that poor excuse of a sequel) that HMDs would become very popular. I remember the sole reason I purchased an Atari Jaguar was for the promise of a HMD to be released for it. Well that never happened. The excuse I heard was that too many people would experience vertigo and would throw up after playing games with it. I still think that these "VR helmets" may one day hit the market in force and we'll have OS's that look and act more like video games. I mean come on, how long has it been since we had the nintendo power glove. Why doesn't technology move in this great direction. I would deffinatly use it!
Yeah DOS 3.2 could play LLS also..This won't help make linux a viable gaming platform. If anything I see it as an insult. "Your OS can't play the latest games on the market so stick to '90's Sierra games".

Well if it is I hope they know that safedisc copyprotection can in fact be copied by using an app called CloneCD. Unfortunatly there isn't a *nix version of this app. The point is that no one though safedisc protection could be copied with cdrs and it is possible.

An example that comes to mind is the confederate flag. While I do understand that it may upset others and I personally could give a damn about it. Democrats would like to have it outlawed. But that is a clear form of speech and expression. So chew on that for awhile.
To further your insight instead of drugs you could insert anything illegal item in its place. Say guns or counterfiet money for example. The solution? Simple, the government will just legislate that all manufactors of the "molecular fabbers" prohibit known illegal items. Then there will be a brand new scene crop up to circumvent these restrictions. I can't wait to see the day when I see "wh0'z g0tz dat new 0day: superfunky_weed-RAZORFAB???".
If something is broke, code it yourself...you gain valuble experience with everything you do and it makes you feel great once you're done. Make sure you release it under GPL though..

MS wants a monopoly of the console market and will do so by whatever means. Who expects buisness ethics from MS anyways?
