Is this something that they've actually built or are they talking pipe dream? i mean if they want it rolling out in 5 years they'd better atleast have a working prototype or something... also exactly what is this thing going to do/be?
is it a full power laptop? is it going to be a new fancy ten-tablet... like a palm on growth hormones?
does this mean the xbox will actually be out soon? and that it's finished? or is this a room where you have controlers that plug into a wall so that you can see what the games would look like on a theoretical "xbox" if it were complete?
on one hand.. "computer languges" are really human languages and the compiler translates them into real machine language right? so in essence learning basic or c is really learning another human language...
but just because you are good at learning the grammar and vocabulary doesn't mena you can make use of it... because computer languages make use of alot of math and logic skills that are not present in regular languages... i'm guessing this is because the computer/compilers need very exact rules to follow.. for example if i forget to put the period at the end of this sentence, you will still understand me if i forget to put a ; at the end of a c statement the compiler will bomb...
so in essence linguistic aptidude might help in learnign programing, but is hardly the only factor
yes i'll give you that.. both movies have essentially the same plot... but many movies have essentially the same plot it's more like a generic hollywood schema in a common pool we don't discredit staw wars because it has the same plot as a kurosawa film

but i do think Lawrence Fishburne did an excelent job in the matrix
i think one of the elements that was key in empire being the best movie was the ending... there was no definate ending.. it's didn't end up being an "well everythings solved... the bad guys are dead/defeated, we can live happilu ever after" movie.. it also gave good insihgts into the characters motivations and their flaws
As for The Matrix being a DC ripoff.. you're kidding right? the Matrix was based on the writings of Gibson who is accredited as one of the pioneers of cyberpunk/virtual reality...
granted yes Dark City was a really awsome movie and should have had more attention than it got, but the matrix was a decent movie in it's own right...
if you cna look past the flash, the tight leather and keanu reeves(well that should not be hard) the matrix did a good job of portraying gibson's idea of virtual reality and what kinds of questions it would bring about for humanity and "real" reality...
overall just because too many people liked the movie for the wrong reasons we should not excuse it as being trash (for example i heard a punk remake of a backstreet boys song and kind of liked it... this proves that it's not their songs that are the problem)
perhaps i am jaded because i really liked gibson's writings and was glad that it finaly saw some popularity... hopefully though they will get a better lead if(hopefully) they ever film Neuromancer...

wouldn't the seven days be more based upon the biblical "and he rested on the 7th"???
as for the japanese calander.. i've wondered if they did that whole sun,moon, elements as an adaptation of adopting the gregorian calander when they were so west crazy... before that their years were not based upon a fixed bc/ad like system.. it was marked as the nth yeard of emperor x... so i highly suspect that days would have also been based upon a chinese calander (since so many old school japanese things were adaptations of chinese things)... does anyone know how the chise calander went in terms of day and weeks?

why would the zodiac matter? it already doesn't coincide with the gregorian calander.. just recalculate it and make it up from there...
