    While the existence of tectonics on Mars is interesting in its own right, the really fascinating question is whether it is still continuing today. Yin seems to jump to the conclusion that it does without much data to back it up. I would like to see some measurements examining Martian tectonic movements. It shouldn't be that hard, we can already do that with centimeter precision here on Earth. If Mars turns out to be tectonically active, that would mean it still has a hot liquid mantle and it's not the cold dead planet we tought it was.

    True, but software patents only go to corporations with deep pockets and herds of lawyers, so if Google wouldn't have patented it a worse company certainly would.

    Because we only have Google's word that their car is as good as they claim to be, and now it turns out they were lying about something. Being rear-ended is not the problem, claiming no accidents when there was at least one is. Google has been testing these cars for years, if they are as good as they say I don't know why are they evading open, independent testing.

    Does it matter? Even if the choice of font does have an effect, it's an insignificantly small one in practice.

    I met a child with two bilingual parents who was raised to speak four languages. The problem is, even at the age of six she could only speak a few words in any of those languages. Her speech was at the level of a two years old. I think four languages is too much.

    They have their own reasons. Indie developers can't hire enough artists for more detailed graphics, and MMO games have to be able to run on cheap old computers if they want to get into the Asian market.

    It's very hard to determine the effects of an ad camoaign on sales, as the figures are constantly changing and depend on a lot of variables.

    While a cloud service provider isn't necessarily like Amazon, this is a prime example of why the cloud can't be trusted: you are at the mercy of the service provider, and if they alter the deal you can only pray they don't alter it further.
