Makers of CD players and CD-ROM drives only need to make "relatively simple modifications" to their software and supposedly protected CDs can be played with ease.... "Software upgrades can be delivered easily using the internet," says Halderman,...
So do any firmware upgrades for just such a purpose exist for any drives yet? No such love for my Plextor 12/10/32A so far.
Can anyone confirm *any* newer drive being shipped with the ability to ignore "weird" TOCs beyond the first one on audio CDs?
It is easily demonstrable that the Klez virus was not written by you and did not come from you. You are safe on that front.
If you have received a letter specifically and clearly accusing you of the things you mentioned, then congratulations, because you have a valid and clear-cut libel case on your hands.
Send him a cheerful letter in return that explains the nature of the virus, and attach pages upon pages of URLs and other documentation to/from leading anti-virus software makers on the subject. Inform him that if he pursues, you'll pursue.
I used Led Zep as an example of something that would be too good to give up just because it is on a monopoly label.
And my response was that this is a non-sequitur. You can keep your Led Zep, perfectly legally fair-and-square thanks to the second-hand market, and not support the cartel at the same time.
Can you imagine a Led Zep fan choosing to give up Led Zep because they are on Atlantic? Impossible. Thats what you are asking people to do.
This is a non-sequitir. Music this old can easily be had cheaperthanretail. The second-hand market is way underexplored.
Giving up something that a person has been listening to for decades is difficult, I grant you, but I simply can't imagine that it's that difficult to make a conscious decision to not buy the latest top-40 dreck--or to at least wait a few weeks for it turn up on the second-hand market.
The argument being made that users aren't cheap skates, they will pay for good software.
Users, including me, will pay for good software up to and no further than the point when equivalent, if not better, freeware/open source/[insert other it's-free license here] software comes along.
They did. TNG adopted an open script submission policy in season 3. Contrary to what another poster says, viewer submissions weren't automatically more likely to be the stinkers. The book "Captains' Logs: The Unauthorized Complete Trek Voyagers" has the details on which scripts were submissions.

Unprofessional, quick diagnosis: Solder points on the back of the motherboard touched the metal casing (or something else metallic that they weren't supposed to touch).
One time while building a system I failed to fully secure the motherboard against the metal chasis. Somewhere, somehow the back of the motherboard was touching the chasis. When I fired it up, this exact same thing you described happened. Fortunately, it still worked after I put it all together properly.
That Iraq is able to scoff at international law, kicking out the U.N inspectors and rebuilding their weapons of mass destruction [yahoo.com] while the rest of the world(except the U.S.) turns a blind eye.
Now would be a good time to point out soem of the things that the report on Iraq's WMD status actually says:
Iraq does not possess facilities to produce fissile material in sufficient amounts for nuclear weapons.
It would require several years and extensive foreign assistance to build such fissile material production facilities.
It could divert domestic civil-use radioisotopes or seek to obtain foreign material for a crude radiological device.
Of course, the only logicaly title for the article on Yahoo is "Iraq Could Make N-Bomb". The titles of articles that appeared in other publications were equally asinine--"British think tank warns of Iraqi threat" for example.

Why would I want my desktop rotated and/or reflected (which I presume to mean "mirrored" or "backwards")?

I'm sure this is not the optimal solution you would like, but at least you can prevent certain bidders from bidding on your items again.
partner=cmdrtaco appears to work just as well. You can use that one instead.

What's stopping you is the fact that Sound Recorder is limited to thirty seconds of recording. Total Recorder, however, will fit the bill nicely. :-)

One bit of bad news: Mozart's work is in the public domain, and has been for, ah, quite a long time.

What happens when you drop the external drive on the cement on the way to your offsite location? :-)
There can't be that many people who think that PayPal sucks!
I don't understand the question. Is it one of those rhetorical questions, like "Is there ever a shortage of pedantic comments on Slashdot?"
California Extreme is also your chance to play this guy's rare Marble Madness II prototype, which he assembled from parts over a period of time.
