So its ok for companies to use a private leased line network, but its not ok for the government? Civilians will never know if the.mil network is already capable of supporting this. A question to ask is, is this for military purposes or not. if it is, use.mil, if not ask why we need it, since in my opinion the gov't ought not to be doing much else with this.
So are we not supporting the rights of musicians to make a living. It seems the issue here to me is the high sales cost when they can be made for a dollar or less each. Most of that money is going to the label. Musicians need to make a living too.
Last I checked credit card numbers are not had by everyboday and are not used for foolproof id. Also, I do not thinh u need to show a social security number to get on a plane. DOB as an id, way too many people share those for it to be a useful ID.
Given the open source community's focus on fixing discovered problems, quality, and the like, I am really not worried about worms/virii. Hacks/attacks of services, those I sweat a little more..
I'm looking to move and went to qualify my new address's phone number on pacbell.net's website. To my surprise I also saw sdsl offerings there.
See here for more info.

Subject says it all, big Brother is high on my list of enemies. We must be able to maintain liberty without giving up this much freedom.
As a longtime bsd user, I am glad to see the os get a little attention this way. The dependency system is quite nice and easy.

it seems a little demographic research is lacking at this site??
As stated previously look there...
So it would appear that out of nowhere a multithreaded application appeared that needed this kind of horsepower??
If u dont wanna spend $ for a faster internet connection, u can always get a cd from the above site, I'm sure they'll have em soon.
The base install takes very little time..
Do the minimal install, then add ports, you can do it fast. Or get a cd cheapskate.
Look at the activity on the freebsd-ports mailing list..
Install the ports system and get it that way.
adding the speeds to get 4.4 ghz, cmon u sound like Cisco when they talk about 2 100bt lines in a vlan as a 400 meg connection..
Looks like a fantastic job of spotting and reacting to problems as they appeared..
Pick your fave BSD, Nix or whatever project, and donate em..
Going here gives a pretty complete rundown on using all things networking with openbsd.
