I would say Bill Gates selling (excuse me....licensing) an OS he didn't own to one of the largest tech companies on the planet the riskiest move the company has ever made. Of course they didn't have nearly as much to lose back then so perhaps it's a wash...
You are so right! I mean as long as I keep these MFM hard drives safe I will always have the data that is stored on them...Retrieving the data however might be a problem.
I'm confused.
If big business owners "have us by the balls" and "have bought and paid for the Senate, etc" then why do they also need to "spend billions of dollars every year lobbying".
Are you saying that's just theatre to keep people from noticing?
DUH!
Different companies want different outcomes. They lobby to get the best bang for their buck and keep their competitor from getting legislation passed that will help themselves but increase operating costs for everyone else.
I find that jerks who bitch the most are often the worst at writing code, sorry just sayin. Big ego = ass hat to work with and awful at writing code. C# might work out better for ya.
I like the Steelseries (I have an original Z-Board) but couldn't justify the purchase just for gaming. Got a great deal just last week on the Monoprice mechanical with the Cherry MX Blacks (the worst of the bunch according to this article). It's got a PS/2 connector with N==64 NKRO as well as the mic/headset and USB connections built in. They had it on sale last week for $56 but it's back to its original $76 as of today. Very solid unit.
Did Open Office get revived? I thought LibreOffice was the newish hotness? Oh, and the set that wants Free as in Beer and isn't concerned with FOSS there is always Kingsoft Office.
I make a distinction between "offensive" and "deceptive" and I'm hoping PP does as well. When I say something I cannot know for sure if it will or won't offend you. If I tell you something that I know isn't true that is deceptive whether you are offended by it or not.
So if a guy walks up to a woman and tells her "You have a really nice [insert female body part of choice]" she may or may not get offended depending on her sensibilities but if he walks up to her and says "My unit is two feet long and as wide as 100 year old oak tree" whether she is offended or not he's lying or has a genetic disorder/disease.
It wasn't Thunderstruck as first reported but actually Justin Beiber's Baby Baby. Several technicians took their own lives before the speakers could be silenced.
I suspect you are right. I was working at Compaq during the hp takeover and when hp discovered they were paying more for identical hard drives than Compaq they were incensed.
Rovio went free on Android because they could tap the Google advertising engine and get revenue every time someone on Android played Angry Birds. So instead of $5 flat up front they had the potential to make money in perpetuity on every install. The key to making this pay off is having an app that people continue to use day in, day out. Angry Birds was a proven entity on iOS so it wasn't that big of a risk for Rovio but there are other apps/ISV's successfully employing this model.

Shouldn't that be:
Big ego == ass hat
Actually most people want "free as in beer"...period! and they have no idea what "free as in speech" means.

Why hate Zynga. They wrote their own code, didn't they? Is the artwork a pixel-for-pixel copy, or a stylistic imitation?
Two words...Mark Pincus
naw, he just isn't patched for the Y2K bug yet.
