They should also rename Windows Phone to not include Windows. Most of the people I know refuse to touch one purely because of word association. Apple was smart there - there are a lot of diehard Windows fanboys and gamerkids with iPhones who would have never touched one had they named it OSX Phone over iOS.
I got the new windows 8.1 phone just to try something different after being bored by ios and android. The app store is packed full of scam shit. Packed. Full. Saw a game using assassins creed art passing itself as an original game yesterday.
Lots of fucktarded apps too like "google hangouts features" which tells you what google hangouts does. That is the entire app.
There are some super high quality apps hidden in there but the store has 0 moderation. Saw a Sword Art Online streamer in the Business category.
For me it is not the dificult things that cause bugs, but rather the shit that was so easy it didn't need thinking - things that were obviously too simple to fuck up.
On my older Macbook pro OSX would refuse to run the cooling fans unless it was an absolute emergency. Sometimes the damned thing would get so hot that it would actually cross the line of overheating and things like Netflix would start lagging hard.
Same machine with Windows 8 installed, I immediately noticed that Windows was doing a better job at keeping the hardware safe and being much more liberal on the cooling.
Same on the Surface. If you listen really really carefully you can actually hear the fan inside gap on the edge of the casing. (and you can really hear and feel it if you launch DOTA2 on it)
I love how ATT won't even roll that shit out in their capital city of Dallas. I live two blocks from their HQ that spans 2 of our city blocks and they still will only provide the most shitty DSL I have ever had.:(
The funny thing about the G2 is that when i was playing with it at ATT last week, it was noticably slower/laggier/lower-framerate than both the Optimus G and Optimus G Pro even though they claimed it was like a billion times faster than my Optimus G.
It does not surprise me that any of the manufactures are having to lie, now.
Not only is this not a discovery, since anyone with an ATT phone may notice their phone connecting to 'attwifi' when walking into mcdonalds and walmart, but it is not even iPhone specific. The LG Optimus G I got from ATT will join lolnetworks by default too. At least on that phone though it is more obvious to disable.
I noticed this behaviour in the instant messengers too last week. Snickers aside, I was sending a list of URLs to someone (one at a time during a conversation) and the URLs that were on the imagefap domain never arrived to their destination.
Which games keep me from using Linux? All of them, even the ones that have native Linux builds. I used to play UT2003-4 a lot and I remember the visual quality and performance just could not match that of the exact same game on my Windows XP partition using the dates DirectX.
And heaven forbid I accidentally a package update and durr OpenGL broke until nVidia updated the video driver.
Before any of that they needed to have made it a real OS that real developers could really develop on without having to #ifdef hell an application. By this I mean, for example, C#.NET with WPF. I should be able to take my WPF application, change the drop down build target to Windows 8 Phone, and it should be done. That is how simple it should be. Look at iOS and Android... developing for those platforms is the biggest pain my life. Microsoft is in a not-so-unique position to actually do shit for real, for once. But, of course, won't.
In all games that pair you with random players this is going to be true and it is quite obvious and hardly required in-depth research to discover.
Take for example World of Warcraft. If I use the random dungeon finder to find random players instead of pulling people from my guild, I am much more likely to have no issues screwing people over since I will never see those random players ever again.
*rolls need*
every brick and mortar library i have ever visited also kept my reading history on file; high school library, uni library, city library, state library - all of them.
i could even browse it from one of their dumb-terminals right there on the library desk.
so... what is their real argument? oh yeah - easier than driving to a real library.
i was qq'ing about this a few weeks ago. it would be awesome if it was forked. i imagine if that happened the official growl would have to go back open. i cannot imagine many apps implementing 1.3 if opengrowl was pro.
i seriously thought it was shut down years ago.

Add to that fact that you do not even need the app. You can still get that kind of data from Foursquare any number of ways. This just made it loleasy.
I steer with my knees, while texting the D&D group my next action.

I do not use Google to Search My World, my world is boring as hell. I use Google to search the entire World Wide Web.

i hope we have enough zpm's to power the shield before the replicators get here.
