Also, software would bypass this "protection" very easily. I'm no expert, but can't you just tell the cd driver where to look to play the song, rather than rely on it to auto-detect what it's supposed to do?
AGREED! I hate automatic payments. I always want the option
of not paying my bills, for whatever reason. I'm 31 and have not been late
on a payment since college, but if I decide to quit paying everyone, I should be
able to. I typically pay extra and early on my mortgage, as well as early
on my car payments and such (I send the check when I get my paycheck, not when
their stupid invoice is due).
The cards aren't owned by the people who bought the dish and receiver. They say right on them that they are propertyoff someone called NDS and they can take them back anytime they darn well want. (OK , something LIKE that).
I have my own domain, so when I sign up for stuff, I use their domain@my domain.com. For example, I used to get crap from Microsoft sent to "sidewalk.com@thilmony.com". When it started to irritate me, and they wouldn't unsubscribe me easily, I just set up my smtp to redirect "sidewalk.com@thilmony.com" to "spam@microsoft.com". I haven't heard from them since.
There was an article last summer inthe paper about a cab driver who couldn't come up with the best plan, so he carried 4 different cell phones. He said he was always able to place a call that way too, as one companies dead spot was another's strong point.
Next time I shop for a cell phone, I'm going to ask for a phone from each company to carry around for a week to try out, and the one that works best for me wins!

I think there is one in Vietnam. I was just in Thailand and saw several, although THAILAND isn't listed on the website...
$1.69 in Minneapolis, 4pm CDT
This is the reason Microsoft bought Great Plains Software. They are behind this whole Internet tax thing!
