    They are called pushers because they do actually push! Only some of the newer homemade pushers provide electricity through cables, the rest turn the pure electric car into a 'through the road hybrid'. These units are pretty experimental, and the user has a separate manual power control. They are for long range highway driving and probably are not the safest items to operate.

    My pyramid scheme? I am not Satoshi and it is not a pyramid. If it was it would have collapsed a long time ago. I now have done hundreds of transactions for bitcoin. I do not hold bitcoin as an investment, I use it as a currency both buying and selling. It is like paypal, without the paypal fees and evil policies.

    Two Bitcoin exchanges have cited or hinted at regulatory pressure as part of their reasons for shutting down. ExchangeBitcoins (exchb) was rumored to have been shut down due to government pressure though that is not their official statement. Tradehill http://www.businessweek.com/technology/bitcoin-exchange-shuttered-nerds-rattled-02172012.html While the primary exchange has avoided troubles so far as it is based in Japan. Right now mtgox.com does 15 million a month in volume of which it takes 1%. I think the US will be scaring all kinds of businesses away that would have generated additional economic activity. I suggest that MTGOX start using a non .com domin name......

    It took two huge dumpsters to take the dirt away. It was done with no power equipment at all, in 2 days, by 4 guys. It is a great idea though, I can imagine remote controlled smaller equipment being used by real contractors in the future.

    Last month I sold my older iPhone and a laptop for BitCoin and today I bought Home Depot gift cards and converted some to USD in my bank account. On the Home Depot cards no fees were paid so 100% of the money stayed out of paypal and ebay hands. On the converted Bitcoins to USD I paid 25 cents to Dwolla and .5% to MTGOX.

    I have been buying and selling stuff for bitcoin for almost a year now. It has become easier and easier to use since then and now there are more products and services then ever available. So can we stop pretending that it is NOT a real currency being used by actual folks? I do bitcoin transactions almost daily now.

    Oxy theft is a big deal in Maryland. A friend also uses oxy for kidney stones which happen about once a year. Around here you can not call to a pharmacy to ask if they have it, they will say they can not tell you. They will never admit to having it on the phone. You have to go there in person and if they do not have it they MAY be able to tell you where you can get it after they see your prescription. The whole time one is treated just like a junkie as you said.

    You are nitpicking there. It is incorrect to say 'by default' the 1571 had no advantage over the 1541 because on a C64 it did not do double capacity without a command. If you had a 128, then it did do double capacity be default and on a C64 it could do it with a simple command. That also does not address the huge improvement in reliability that the 1571 had over the 1541, as well as speed advantages. The 1571 was intended for sale for the 128 but would work with other models like the c64.

    Actually the 1571 was double sided so 2x the capacity and much more reliable. The 1541 was single sided though people often notched and 'flipped' their disks to get the same capacity per disk. The 1581 did exist, I had one. They are on ebay as well.

    Two of us generate 1 medium bag a week in trash. We generate 2x as much in recyclables. We eat in most of the time, and do compost or use an in sink garbage disposal.

    I agree. It could not work for anything practical. Just imagine someone getting caught between the doors while they were open when the trains HAD to separate due to lack of parallel track. I can think of how many times the DC metro tries to close the doors, but then fails and re-opens them. This happening at speed with an 'enforced time limit' can not work.

    There is no evidence that hybrids are involved in more pedestrian incidents or incidents involving blind pedestrians. Because they are unusual the press reports pedestrian/hybrid incidents and they sensationalize it saying things like 'silent death' etc. There is no study conclusively saying that hybrids and electrics would be safer with more noise. It is a shame that money is being put into making the world noiser instead of into things that could save lives.

    Basically they wanted this thing to do way to much. The F35 should not have tried to combine absolutely everything that anyone asked for. The VTOL was the worst part, but just being both a bomber and a fighter was a mistake.     On my last flight, DC to SF, upgrading to first class was $180, the baggage fees I would have paid if I did not do it were $100. I would fly first class most of the time if that upgrade price was available more often. Unfortunately they usually price first class at 2x the price of coach, but you should always check for upgrades if you are carrying bags!

    Yea, but it looks good. Really, have you seen pics of this car? WOW. Also well done is the campy/sexy advertising. On the technical side, the 32 mile range is pretty good for a car that size. Just don't run out of charge because 20mpg is now less then many full size pickup trucks.

    Maryland has enacted a law that prevents store owners from buying items from minors which I also feel is unconstitutional. I know the point of the law, which is to prevent minors who cannot be charged with a crime from fencing items but it seems like an unfair restriction on the rights of minors. All of these laws are trying for the same thing, but would not real police work and investigation into thefts be a better idea?
