Recently, TiVo started a new "feature" where the unit can provide/feature video for special purposes. Before the Superbowl, there was a special promotion with BMW where TiVo users could watch BMW commercials and answer an online quiz for a chance to win a BMW. Some special Superbowl video was also offered and trailers to upcoming programs. What you were seeing on that latenight channel was TiVo downloading encoded video data to the unit for later playback.
It's obviously much slower than just sending the video down, but I'm sure it contains other information like cue/start/end points; where to store the video; where it will be available (TiVo menu items), etc.

I had that problem a lot too, but under the mouse is a sensitivity wheel with three settings. I switched mine to the third setting and have had NO accidental-clicks since.
Is that how they did it? My theory, which removes the need for even the RNG, was that the program used itself to generate the galaxy. ie: It used the physical program data and used it to compare to a table of locations, planet types, governments, etc. Does that make sense?

Yeah, sure. "Replace my laptop" I can't wait to see what kind of web sites I can design during a cross-country flight on a PocketPC using a PocketPC version of Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
My only DSL option forces me to use an Efficient Networks router (5851), which I should get in a couple weeks. Anyone have experience with these and wish to share opinions?
Thought it was very good movie but expected more.

Somehow, after the trailers, I expected the CG to be a bit more advanced/better. Some bits were incredible, but overall, I thought it would be more impressive.
Where it really lacked was in the lip movement. Everyone seemed stiff. I guess it was too hard to CG pursed lips 'cause they don't exist in this movie. I think that's what made everyone's speaking seem unnatural. Probably too much deformation to still look real or something.

DIVX is dead

The big reason most hate(d) DIVX so much is because DIVX is nothing more than "pay-per-view" on disc. Can you imagine what would've happened had DIVX taken off? In short order, "buying" any media would become a thing of the past. Say goodbye to DVD - say hello to DIVX, say goodbye to audio CD's - say hello to CDIX, say goodbye to CD-ROMs - say hello to CD-ROMIX (you get the idea).
Face it, ANY opportunity businesses have to extract more of your hard-earned dollars they will take! Why on earth would M$ SELL you Office 2000 if it can RENT it to you for $X/month!
Excuse me? There is NO censorship here. WB owns the show and they have the right to show or NOT SHOW any or all episodes in any way, time or manner they choose! WB paid the money, the show belongs to them.
Just becuase someone creates something does not make it part of a public's right to view, own, or judge. I have created many pieces of art which no one outside of my immediate group of close friends has or will ever see. Are you trying to say that it's a matter of censorship that I don't make my personal art available to the whole world?!?!?!
Last I heard, Disney still hadn't decided to release it's theatrical animation on DVD -- just direct-to-video and live-action features. Has this changed? If so, I'll be buying a DVD sooner than later.

This is not censorship. This is piracy.
Rumor has is that the iMacs will be bumped up to 333MHz later this year for the same $1199 price point.
