When the mayor failed to call for an evacuation at the necessary time one phone call from Bush or FEMA could have made him change his mind and saved many lives. There were failures at many levels, and to me Bush's failures were as bad as the levees.
So the best examples you could come up for what made Carter one of the two worst presidents in history is one speech and staying late at work? Yeah, that's just as bad as an unnecessary war and most vacations in history.
Maybe true, but for whatever reason I can't find LED bulb replacements in my local convenience store. Florescents are in the stores now and people are getting comfortable with them. Maybe the LEDs cost more to produce?
This site is "News for Nerds", not "Investigative Journalism for Nerds". Please take your insightful comments elsewhere. We're not used to our journalists thinking. If our news outlets actually thought before posting information the world would be a very different place. And different is scary.
I'd like some clarification of your type-o. Is that "different target universes of users" or "different target universes of useless"? Because I could easily agree with it either way.
My company is getting a lot of requests for AJAX or similar features, especially as it relates to letting users customize a page design by dragging around components. AJAX itself is never an exact requirement, but we are often getting asked to add features which require some robust javascript.
And as they say there's no software to install. They host it for you. So how else are they supposed to host your email and web content on your own domain if you don't change your MX and CNAME records?
I know one person whose sole source of television content is iTunes. It's exactly the video-on-demand we've all wanted for years. Pay for only the exact shows you want to see, and get a discount for buying a whole season. When enough content enters the on-demand services cable companies will likely see a massive drop in customers.
the research division of Microsoft is well worth the money spent.
Like the pennyblack project which spent millions trying to figure out how Microsoft could charge you money for every email you spend? Or the many software patents? Or all of those usability studies which they tell developers to follow yet ignore themselves? Please tell us of all the wonderful contributions which the $6 billion R&D department has made to the world, or even just to Microsoft.
I just finished applying for Apple's recall. You give them your serial numbers and shipping address. They mail you a new battery. Once it arrives you swap batteries and ship back the old one in the same package with the shipping label they provide.
Technically you're never without your battery. But they suggest you leave out your old battery permanantly and use the laptop with the power cord attached. I'll keep using my battery while I wait for the new one. It doesn't get very hot and I haven't had any issues with it.
Running the elections as polls on/. would be much better. The respondents would be at least 2% smarter. But then CowboyNeal would probably end up president.
Because it sounds more modern, like elections are "catching up with the times". Going paperless is so 20th century. They should just skip to the current century and call them Elections 2.0. Actually, Elections XP Corporate Edition might be more appropriate.
Bullshit. And your police example isn't appropriate. Nothing is done in big business or big government without paperwork. These telecoms are REQUIRED to ask for the paperwork. They each have a department full of lawyers who would tell every employee, "Make sure to get the paperwork to cover our asses."
What's the worst the government would do to the telecoms for not complying? Raise their FCC license fees? Every one of those telecom employees who complied and is a US citizen conspired with the government to impinge on the rights of fellow citizens. I hope they get sued for every last dollar they earned while trampling over our rights.
President Bush! There's someone here who can help you...
Bush: Is it Batman?
No, he's a scientist.
Bush: Batman's a scientist?!
It's not Batman!
That's not rain.

There's something positive about being Orwellian?

What law in what country is preventing a combo cell/VOIP phone from being sold?
Digium sells PBX hardware which can be used with their open source software. They have quite a large selection for their niche.
It is when it needs to immediately store the changes on the server.

So are you saying you're sick of all these mothafuckin' articles on these mothafuckin' sites?
(Sorry.)

He wasn't disputing that. Geez, all he was saying is it's most likely safe to keep using your current battery while waiting for the replacement.

I never thought I'd see the day when an apt car analogy was posted to Slashdot. Bravo, ThisNukes4u, bravo.
You're assuming Bush knows what the words "blastocyst", "embryo", and "potential" mean. That's a pretty big assumption.

Maybe MS's code of ethics doesn't cover lying and theiving...
That's not a bug in their code. It's a feature.
you have to assume that it is legal
