Yeah, I meant to say lt IE 9 The major advantage of FF's new built-in dev tools is performance. Because of the existence and prevalence of Firebug, there isn't so much of a need for native dev tools with a good UI. Can't say the same for IE...
1. Snub w3schools for posing as a developer resource while targeting newbies. 2. Point out that in general the alert and confirm dialogs have better alternatives. 3. Criticize w3schools.com for lack of giving explanation while pointing at resources that do. 4. Advocating the use of console.log while knowing that the console object isn't supported by IE, which should be avoided as a debugging tool anyway.
I would expect such citations out of ignorance, but willfully ignoring the context - even when pointed out - astounds me.
For everyone else, here's my response: The first citation is about a situation of war, instigated not by the Muslims, but by the Meccan polytheists. And it would only make sense to finish that war and come out on top when the muslims have become the majority, instead of making a treaty with a people who have broken the previous treaty.
The second reference is simply about the Islamic state. That is, non-Muslims are allowed to live in such a state requiring that they pay a tax (a cheap one, especially by today's standards) and they abide by the law, just like any other citizen. If they break laws they may be punished depending on the severity of their crime (which is, by the way, also the case for Muslim criminals). This is the same in every country of the world, so why is this a problem in the case of an Islamic state?
I would also like to note that the Jizyah tax is less than the tax Muslims pay (zakaat), and it is a tax only to be payed by the working men amongst them - and only those who can actually afford it. If they still don't want to pay it, they have the option to join the army, in which case their obligation to pay tax will be completely remitted. The zakaat Muslims pay, on the other hand, is to be paid by each Muslim (even children) who meets the conditions, and it is 2.5% of their wealth in a year.
Circumcision, which amputates part of the male phallus, generates intense emotions,[1] both for and against circumcision, which influence the medical literature.[2] The circumcision-related medical literature, therefore, is uniquely voluminous, argumentative, polemical, confusing, chaotic, and contradictory.
Results of studies of the effect on penile sensitivity have been mixed. In a British study of 150 men circumcised as adults for penile problems, Masood et al. found that 38% reported improved penile sensation (p=0.01), 18% reported worse penile sensation, while the remainder (44%) reported no change.[6] In a survey of men circumcised as adults for medical (93%) or elective (7%) reasons, Fink et al. found an association between adult circumcision and decreased penile sensitivity that "bordered on statistical significance" (p=0.08).[7]
In a 2008 study of Kenyan men, Krieger et al. stated that "Adult male circumcision was not associated with sexual dysfunction. Circumcised men reported increased penile sensitivity and enhanced ease of reaching orgasm."[8] In a 2009 study of 22 men in Mexico circumcised for medical or aesthetic reasons, Cortés-González et al. reported a statistically significant improvement in "perception of sexual events" (p=0.04).[9]
Why would it be a problem to just use one's personal email address? It seems to me that using your corporate email for anything else than just plain email and P2P communication is a bad idea.
Running full-blown Ubuntu with Unity (although I dislike it, it runs better than gnome 3) on a very dated Pentium Celeron 2.0 GHz or so, with 768MB of (single-channel) DDR333.
It's not what you'd call snappy, but I can't be bothered to run LXDE on it in stead of Unity, and chromium in stead of Firefox.
If you're not making your photo gallery with Views, you're doing it wrong. And it's been done with Views for a long time. And Misery? You can't seriously be using a module that has only 123 users (at time of posting) and complain about lack of support!
Finally, Drupal 8 isn't there yet at all, and may be released in August next year.
It's believed that the patents in question have to do with the IEEE 802.11 WiFi standard

I've first tested Samba 4 around alpha 11. It was certainly an interesting learning experience and it was also surprisingly stable for an alpha product. I'd love to play around with it again after 2 years of development.
My brother wrote a paper a few years ago about just this issue. He compared the BMI to an index used for crocodiles (which used a 3rd power), and proved that the BMI is hopelessly useless.
Wait - I must be missing something. Since when is Windows open source?
You really don't compare an open source project to a proprietary one like that. Apples and orange anyone?

Not that it is applicable in this case (not at all IMO), but using the arguments of patent trolls against them is a way to point out their hypocrisy.

Oh wait, on slashdot, anti Islamic opinions are a citable source.
Let's wait until Samsung brings out a version with a smaller screen, hmm? That would be a fairer comparison for a drop test.

Can the iPad/iPhone/iX be opened without surgically removing key components yet?

Which brings to mind the issue that Top Gear has been shelved until 2013! Bastards...
You mean the writer of CETA infringed his own copyright? IP has reached a new low.
Maybe we should start making scary sounds when someone uses poor grammer in a conversation, just like compiler warnings.

And since when is there no way to install OEM Windows? You can even buy OEM discs from most online computer shops.
From http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/system-requirements/:
For certain features of the software - but not most - Java is required. Java is notably required for Base.
Also, they're reducing Java dependency, but it obviously takes time until LibreOffice is fully c++.
