"Well, duh... What do you care if I find that it's interesting to do so?"
That's a fine sentiment for a hobby project. But for a project with an expected deliverable within a set time frame most of the time pragmatism beats idealism.
Yes. C# (VB.NET and C++ as well) has the free Visual Studio Express from Microsoft. While it doesn't officially support Python, it does become a very good Python IDE by using the equally free (and unimaginatively named) Python Tools for Visual Studio.
From the README file:
"XobotOS is a Xamarin research project that explored porting Android 4.0 from Java/Dalvik to C# to explore the performance and memory footprint benefits of C#."
Am I the only one surprised at the sudden spike in VB.NET's standings?

Don't get me wrong, I love VB.NET and would probably be working on it today if my employer didn't prefer C#, but that spike baffles me,
Wait a minute. Game Designer? Here's the original article Browne wrote. Read his bio at the very bottom. The guy is a friggin' exec. No wonder he's bitching about lost sales to used games, how else is he going to explain his company's lack luster performance?
That baker shop haunted my dreams. I was *sure* there were treasures galore inside. Got arrested way too many times trying to get in. Even accidentally killed my character with a lock pick trying to get that damn "gone fishing" door to open.
I don't know how you how you got homophobic from that, but "Ook" is a reference to the Librarian from the Discworld books. A (human) librarian of a magic library who got turned into an orangutan after a magical accident. He say "Ook!" a lot.
That's not how science works. I'm pretty sure someone asked your very same question when a 100 years ago a guy called Albert wrote about a dynamic Space Time. Nowadays we can't get by without his theories.
Just because we research something that has no applicable effect today, doesn't mean it is without value.
That was my reaction to the news exactly. While I am sorry to see them go, its mostly out of nostalgia for an institution of a bygone youth. EGM (and others) were far better gaming magazines. Still, I probably still have a huge stack of GamePros back in my mom's storage room.
No. It was Mr Rogers (in a blood stained sweater) > Everybody else.
You do realize there's more than GUI building to C#, right?
C# is already available on both MacOS and iOS through Mono.
Just get it from here:

Mono is dead? Since when?
Look again. VB and VB.NET are separate entries,

I do hope you mean COBOL? But I gotta admit, COBALT is an awesome name for a language :)

Yeah, but that one didn't have Al Lowe's participation or blessing. He had nothing to do with any LL game after Love for Sail.
