    oh you mean like the rest of the world has?

    CI slot in FTA receivers.

    NIH would be a factor in why dish and dtv didn't go that way.

    Dish net is fully compatible with FTA gear (except for the requirements you list :-)

    I agree with parent that users DO NEED to be held to a higher standard.

    Computer literacy (when demanded) for a job should not be a checkbox. It should be a test.

    Ask a carpenter about his tools (stop laughing) and he will be informed . Ask an office worker, and they'll usually say something derogatory.

    Which one has more to lose when their tool is faulty? The guy working the saw or the guy typing?

    several cases have already been won by the consumer on this issue in Canada.

    The argument goes: "I already paid you leeches when I bought my cdr/dvdr disks. Piss off"

    Can't have it both ways here. Either we are all thieves (Fee payers), or they can sue us for infringement.

    I like the fees myself (It's pennies a disk anyway).

    sorry I didn't state why I prefer the country domains.

    It has to do with online shopping/tax/shipping. It is easier to get localized pricing when comparing online items if you don't have to factor customs brokerage fees and non US shipping costs.
