The BBC went to a text-only format around 10am EST, but did stay up fairly well.
http://robots.cnn.com/ also stayed up, as it doesn't server 1% of the pages www.cnn.com does.
Hmm, forgot about them. Will have to check them out and then buy them if they're worth it. Oops, I mean buy them and then figure out if they're worth it. Don't want to argue with the business model.
So, was Darth Platypus or whatever his name was Sidious' master? ROTS didn't say as much but Palpatine's expression suggested this was so. And is the whole immortality thing the same as the Jedi life-after-death that Yoda, Anakin and Obi-Wan display at the end of ROTJ?
'Younglings' scene: "I can't watch this any more"... "I wonder where Anakin went"...
WATCH THE GOD-DAMN THING AND HE'LL TELL YOU.
Also, if those missiles actually BLEW UP instead of chucking pathetic Gremlins at his spaceship it would've saved the Emperor some trouble.
And WTF was with the ending? "Give it up, I jumped this high!".."Don't underestimate how high I can jump!".. jump.. zvoom.. legs gone.
Throw in the TERRIBLE droid slapstick noises in all the fights and R2's magic new acrobatic routines and I was ready to walk out halfway through. And don't even get me started on why Grievous was half biological (and seemed to be recovering from a bad cold), or what the fuck Obi-Wan was thinking leaving an angry, jealous, vengeful apprentice open to the obviously Dark Side chancellor, or why "Do or Do Not.. There Is No Try" Yoda ran off after a wussy attempt to slap the Chancellor down. Or.. fuck it, that's enough, but you get my point. I hate lousy plots.
Seeing how the DevKits were G5 boxes, wouldn't it be a good idea to look at the OS they were running?
From a hackability POV, it's the BIOS that really matters. The original xbox had the BIOS hidden in the VGA chip (or was it the Southbridge? Can't remember) but once Bunnie Huang scoped the buses everything was lost. I think we can expect to see some fairly high grade encryption at work in both the POST and code signing arenas.
I've seen $350 quoted as a price point - once more and more devices start offering control access over TCP/IP (think TiVoweb, Xbox Media Centre etc) I think we've got a good candidate for the much-trumpeted "terminal" device that everyone uses around the home. I had the PSP pegged as a good place to start, providing a vibrant homebrew community springs up around it. This Nokia device offers that sort of functionality and development possibilites right out the box.
This review from Salon (required to watch an ad to read the whole thing)
Actually, if you just bookmark (or visit) http://www.salon.com/news/cookie.html you need never watch a crappy, inapplicable (I'm Yurpeen) Visa advert ever again.
Out of interest, which Bluetooth profile will these units use? Will they get a new one added through SIG or is there an existing one that's suitable?
Wouldn't it be funny if the first person to try a PS3 and XB360 alongside each other found interference? Are these class 1 bluetooth devices, ie 100m range? Would love to be able to fuck with my neighbour's late night FIFA exploits.

'content owners will be able to control distribution rights themselves, even setting a price for their video clips.'
From the TOS:
By accepting this Agreement and uploading Your Authorized Content to Google, you are directing and authorizing Google to, and granting Google a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive right and license to, host, cache, route, transmit, store, copy, distribute, perform, display, reformat, excerpt, analyze, and create algorithms based on the Authorized Content
I'm continually amazed at the number of people freaking out about the AdSense content next to their emails (high) vs. the number of people freaking out about the vast Kevin-Bacon-Style network of who-knows-who the invite system produces (low).
This is why the gmail spool is good, and possibly why it's actually surprisingly hard to locate using Google..

Feel free to point out where I said or claimed that. As I replied earlier, I was talking about the lack of a verifiable proof that it wasn't due to closed-source methods. Y'know, like what TFA says?
Sad but true, after all just look at how AIDs was supposed to be "God's vengeance" back when it mainly affected homosexual people.
Not bigger than Kim Schmitz, surely.

Don't count on Japan ignoring Airbus forever.
Concorde is a manufacturer now? Funny, I thought it was a joint venture from BAe and some French company I can't remember the name of..

TOS for Google Video Uploader explicitly denies any right to reverse engineer the tech, so slim to none?

Well won't we all look stupid when Global Warming doesn't occur (if you believe it hasn't started) and those professors are laughing it up in Rio.
Thanks for enlightening me. So, where do you suggest we get our academic research done?
