see, I've been coding for all my life, and I don't even know what the hell.NET is, if it's not a language. And if it's not a language, than what the hell is it good for?
I wandered around their site for about 15 minutes, trying to get a grasp of just what the hell they were doing, but they really make it about as clear as mud.
Likewise, does the Microsoft page titled "What is.NET?":.NET is the Microsoft Web services strategy to connect information, people, systems, and devices through software. Integrated across the Microsoft platform,.NET technology provides the ability to quickly build, deploy, manage, and use connected, security-enhanced solutions with Web services..NET-connected solutions enable businesses to integrate their systems more rapidly and in a more agile manner and help them realize the promise of information anytime, anywhere, on any device.
of course, what would happen if some new search engine pops up? do they then get to sue microsoft, firefox foundation, and opera for not including them in their box?
..there were thousands to millions of Linux and BSD and Windows computers on it, were SUNs.
SUN, HP, NeXT, IBM, and maybe a couple other brands were the only game going. And any of those of us that wanted to develop, we wanted to work with a Sun or a NeXT, since the GNU tools were most commonly found on those.
Actually, we wanted things that ran BSD, but BSDs hardware requirements were a bit.. out there.. then.

Tepples has perfectly valid points as well, but I never really thought of it that way.
Nintendo and the NES brought us the Gamepad controller. Gamepads are just absolutely awful controllers. And ever since, all we've had is the same crappy gamepad, just larger and larger, till the Xbox monstrosity.

really, I was mostly kidding. I wouldn't buy the thing to begin with, I'm probably the only person who thinks that Nintendo screwed up gaming rather than actually saved it with the craptastic NES.
But.. were any of those three territories english speaking? any of them have a gamer population? or for that matter a population of smartasses?
Every chat channel I've joined in today has spent all day making fun of it. Yes, it's good for advertising, but it looks like the general consensus is that most English speaking people are NOT going to go to a game shop and ask to purchase a WII!
I know I sure as hell am NOT going to say to the store clerk "Hi, I'd like to buy that Wii you have there."
What are they going to call the eventual portable version? Mini Wee? Pocket Wii? Wii Wii ??
Will Apple want to have their own branded version? iWii! A portable Apple brand! iWiiWii!
Who's going to have a Wii party? "Dude, let's hook up our Wiis".
"Dude, I am so tired.. I was up all night playing with my Wii."
"John, can I see your Wii?"
At least there is a bright side.
It's not "Wii-NES." We hopefully won't have a game named "Super Mario Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
You can play with your friends, and you can play with your Wii, but don't play with your Friend's Wii.
they don't need a normal marketing. All they need to do is post a headline on their web page. "It's out." By taking this long, they have saved their entire advertising budget.
I can only assume that Broussard is the only person at 3dr that has been there through the whole time. Everyone else has to have turned several times a year.,
is that coming out for PC, or PS2, or anything besides PSP??..i got so bored with the state of gaming that I learned to mod for the Unreal engine, and hope to have a fairly sizable game to add to my resume, maybe i can finally pick up a job sometime this year.
...to titles that interested them. We're without a GTA game this year, apparently, and not much like it. GTA has to be by far the longest game play of anything going out there...
ah, i see.. i'll have to take a look at it, and see what I can find out.. might be a simple thing to check features, and do it.. *shrug* i haven't worked with jscript in several months since I wrote the Opera Fark add-on, so i'm a bit rusty:-S
Hmm. I note that that script doesn't actually work in Opera like it claims. Pity, it looks useful. And the author has made it a pain in the ass to contact him... Suppose I should get off my arse and Use the Source, and fix it, but...
Considering that the Opera UI is made to mimic IE by default, and Firefox is also made to mimic IE (but is not nearly as configurable to the average human being), I'd be curious what you mean by that.
I had the same sort of complaint from a person about the changes to the interface between O7 and O8.. except that there really weren't any changes between O7 and O8 to the UI, most of the UI changes happened in O7. hmm.
I'm so goddamn special, they named a whole PLANET after me!
Is someone crying becuase new software has new features, and they aren't going to port it to previous versions? huh?
Dorks. They look like Dorks, Mr. Wolfe.
so... you can change the source. They don't need to cater to what a user might want, because the user can alter the software.
...unless you're in a Union job, and then it's freaking IMPOSSIBLE.

Absolutely meaningless drivel.
I can't say that I know a single person who actually knows the two languages that TC works with...
To quote the late Sam Kinison, may he RIP....

"What about AIDS? Aren't you afraid of it? Aren't you scared? Heterosexuals die from it, too!"
"name ONE! NAME ONE FUCKING HETEROSEXUAL PERSON DYING OF AIDS! Yeah, they're just dropping like FLIES, aren't they?"
yeah, it's not quite that uncommon, but it is still pretty uncommon.

seriously? utorrent is the only torrent client i've seen that got me more than about 20k/sec.. i routinely peg 600k+/sec with utorrent. :D

Only thing done since Opera 8, which it claims to work with, is adding XPath, as far as the new Jscript stuff goes. :-S
yeah, Opera does. There's also a UserScript that will put icons next to all links telling you what type they are, too..
