I haven't touched a Commodore since like 1990, and I still can operate it. Plus, it's got all the software with it, I imagine, unless the guy went through and blew up all his software before he killed himself. In which case, once it's gone, it's probably gone. Anything aside from the "fast erase" pretty throroughly deleted whatever was on the disks.
By your exceptionally flawed reasoning, any software that ever ran on the Linux system, would automatically become GPL, as anything that involves the kernel automatically would have to be GPL.
A license on conditions for distributing code doesn't really affect linking to object data.
Or, you could use Opera, and get WhatWG "standards", that allow the web server to push to the clients, instead of having the clients regularly request stuff from the server, and just clean up that way. Much better.
Back in the early 90's, I was running a RadioShack store, and I come in way early one morning, and it was still pretty dark out, so I could see my neon sign outside real well.. and the top part of the left hand line on the "h" was burned out, so it looked like:
I think it has something to do with the general intelligence level of the population, or the general caring level of the population. All employees are required to have learned all the basics, but that doesn't mean that it stuck.
I know there are at least a dozen employees in the company that can handle just about anything you can throw at them, because I trained them to be able to do that.
Unfortunatly, I didn't even get an email that my job was gone, I picked up my company cell phone to make a call on my day off, and was told I was no longer employed.
Could someone please fix the fix? I can't understand the first like 3 sentences, they make no sense to standard English speaking peoples.

Well, that's because everything that Joss Whedon has ever touched is made with the sole intent of getting young goth girls to hop in his pants. If you're not a young goth girl, nothing Joss makes should interest you.
The problem is is that people who don't pay attention to Fark and Slashdot, have never heard of it.
I sent a message on my IM to a couple hundred people, asking if they were going to see it, the day before it came out, and the vast majority of them had never heard of it.
Someone from Verizon could call the police and let them know that they have reason to believe that stolen hardware is operating from such and such a place.
This is the second time this week, that i've seen the main article in a slashdot story being about some guy (or group of people) crying because features in a new version of software aren't being backported to old versions.
I know Mac and Amiga had tons of viruses before 1986, and I'd be willing to bet PC's did, too.. just that PC's weren't quite so much for game use, so there wasn't nearly as much pirating going around then...
i note that the major claim of the article is fals

Back in the old days, virtually every operating system came with a compiler, but we used GCC because it was better.
Now, we use GCC because it's the only free one left.
Although I'd say the vast majority of us are probably not programming much in C or C++ anymore, with the ubiquitousness(sp) of all the other newer scripting interpreted type languagea available these days that weren't 10 years ago.

All the rest of it is spin. The small statement immediatly above is the only part of that statement that actually means anything.

i'm just saying that if you could get someone at Verizon to care, then it could happen.
Someone from Verizon could call the police and let them know that they have reason to believe that stolen hardware is operating from such and such a place.
And they have until 5:00 on TUESDAY to supply ME with a copy, just so I can play it.

Who the hell demands free software? besides the FSF
Wouldn't it make more sense to get these people some FOOD?!
There are still LPC based muds? really?
I'd be surprised if you see ACID2 even come close to rendering in Firefox before 2.0.

Unfortunatly, it's not using any particularly advanced form of CSS, so it's still lightyears behind the times.
Get with the program!
Collapsible sections in CSS would be awesome.
