I'm working for Verizon (Business, not Wireless), but I would like to know which process did he used to order the devices. When I have to order legitimate devices or training, it's always a highly complex process that must be validated by up to ten people including one vice-president, checked by auditors in different countries and must be exactly filled otherwise will be rejected (in one of the last steps of course)... a nightmare and really time consuming !
So I'm really impressed by what he did !
Just use mod_proxy_balancer (included in Apache) either to load-balance sessions between the two servers using session tracking, or to to use a server as a backup with the parameter "status=+H" (only available for the latests Apache versions). http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.3/mod/mod_proxy_balancer.html
I'm agree with you, Dell laptops quality is really poor. With mine (also a work machine), a C610, I received it with a broken pixel and Dell refused to change the laptop. Then they had to replace the keyborad because the mouse pointer was moving alone. And now I have a hard disk faillure. And if your say that you are runnig Linux, the support generally ask you to reboot to windows to make shure you also have the problem, whatever problem you have (even for the broken pixel). All that in 8 months. And we also had a lot of broken dell screen on our company.

I think that Clément Ader was the first to make a flight (only a few meters yes), at least if some people are not agree with this word, it is certainly the first take off !
Nevertheless, everyone is agree that the Eole and the Wrights brothers'plane have nothing to compare :

Yes software patents are not legal in Europe, for the moments. But a lot of lobbys tries to change this in the wrong direction. In France, a law on this subject is currently under project.
CD-Rs abd mini-disks are now taxed, but the governement is speaking about adding the same type of taxes to computers and averithing that may store music or film. The're talking to add about 500 F (about 70 $) to the price off computers, huuuugh !

Remember the "Cuckoo's Egg" ! How did Clifford Stoll made to track back to the german spy that had entered several computers: he just created a big amount of false military documents and the cracker spend enough time for being localized.
And at the begining he was just trying to discover a difference of 75 cents between to accounting systems.
It was in the 80's, so honeypot are not a new idea.
OK, I have no comment on the work of NSA for protecting the poor americans's life against the dangerous terrorists. But, when the NSA listens french prime-minister's phone communications in order to know his intentions for international negociations or intercepts Thomson's or Airbus's commercial proposals allowing american corporations to win contracts, I call that a theft.
Americans companys are not competitive enought to win contracts honestly ?
ABit is not the only computer manufacturer to annonce explicitly the support of FreeBSD : when I bought my Tekram SCSI (DC390 or something like that) FreeBSD and Linux were listed in the list of suported OS in the box. Will the logos BSD or Linux will replace yesterday's Novell logos on network cards ?

No, I'm George Bush, and now I can say to Microsoft guys: Mission accomplished !
Only 40%, which is already "a success", but they can improve this score, and this would become a triumph !
The goal is not to build another blacklist database, but to take legal actions against (french) spammers.

So delete dell from you shopping list.

Will the RIIA propose an amendment in Europe allowing them to hack into computers in order to upload their copyrigthed files in your hard drive ?
