Mac hardware is simply higher quality than most PC hardware available today. But I don't expect someone who can't even spell compatible to be able to figure that one out.

Apple hardware is better than most PC hardware (and runs linux), while Mac OS X is better than any Microsoft OS that your PC runs. But I'm willing to bet that you've never even run OS X, or owned any Apple hardware. So STFU

Having an encrypted database of 3,000,000 card numbers just means there is an extra step (or completely different attack) that an attacker has to take.

Don't get me wrong, encryption is a great idea, but I would trust my CC info to online retailers if I knew deleting my CC# after they no longer needed it was part of their process.

I have yet to hear a good reason as to why retailers have to keep my CC# long after I have my goods and am satisfied. (So it's easier to buy things in the future is most certainly not a good reason)....

    LimpDawg,

First, let me tell you that I've watched your non-coding, teenage career with much interest, and it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to interview you.

    And now the questions.

The handle 'limpdawg'...brilliant. How did you come up with that one? Personally, I lack the creativity to invent unique handles, thus the only handle my inferior intelect was able to invent was that of a popular Simpson's character. I regret my choice every day of my life.

Judging by your user info page, you have only recently emerged on the Slashdot comment posting scene. Why the long wait in posting? I, for one, have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversation (as we are now).

Allow me to again express how fortunate I feel in being granted this interview.

Seriously, though. There seems to be some controversy around the timing of your Slashdot debut. What is your response to the people who claim that your debut is, rather conveniently, timed just after the death of 300 chinese in a horrible christmas fire. Are these people to believe that it is mere coincidence?

    Thank you, and god bless.

Go for it. I prefer Eterm, so good thing our distros come with both, eh?

I don't really use python, but Gnome does...

Well, technically, if you are using Gnome, then you are using Python. But whatever.

The bottom line is this, if distributions slimmed down such that each one had it's own preferred app set, then the number of distributions would be enormous.

You'd have a distro with GTK apps, Mutt, and Mozilla, with another KDE, elm, Konq distro, and yet another with TK apps, xterm, pine....

Then we'd all be in here bitching about the hundreds of distros....Personally I prefer to choose the apps at install time, and pick distributions based on other things, like package management tools and release cycles.
