when most ppl -- for good reason -- prefer to use PC compatables.
Mac hardware is simply higher quality than
most PC hardware available today. But I don't expect someone who can't even spell compatible to be able to figure that one out.
Apple hardware is better than most PC hardware (and runs linux), while Mac OS X is better than any Microsoft OS that your PC runs. But I'm willing to bet that you've never even run OS X, or owned any Apple hardware. So STFU
Your last sentence was the best troll I've seen
ever, so good for you.
but if you don't know how to plug in a new
mouse or use keyboard shortcuts (99% of laptop
users do one or the other anyway) then you are
too fucking stupid to own a computer in the first
place
encryption does not automagically make things
secure. Security guru B. Schienier says security is a process,
not a product. (encryption = product). Having
an encrypted database of 3,000,000 card numbers
just means there is an extra step (or completely different attack) that an attacker has to take.
Don't get me wrong, encryption is a great idea,
but I would trust my CC info to online retailers
if I knew deleting my CC# after they no longer
needed it was part of their process.
I have yet to hear a good reason as to
why retailers have to keep my CC# long after I
have my goods and am satisfied. (So it's easier
to buy things in the future is most certainly not a good reason)....
First, let me tell you that I've watched your non-coding, teenage career with much interest, and it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to interview you.
And now the questions.
The handle 'limpdawg'...brilliant. How did you come up with that one? Personally, I lack the creativity to invent unique handles, thus the only handle my inferior intelect was able to invent was that of a popular Simpson's character. I regret my choice every day of my life.
Judging by your user info page, you have only recently emerged on the Slashdot comment posting scene. Why the long wait in posting? I, for one, have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversation (as we are now).
Allow me to again express how fortunate I feel in being granted this interview.
Seriously, though. There seems to be some controversy around the timing of your Slashdot debut. What is your response to the people who claim that your debut is, rather conveniently, timed just after the death of 300 chinese in a horrible christmas fire. Are these people to believe that it is mere coincidence?
Who needs 3 different Napster/AIM/ICQ/IRC clients?
You're right. I just need one. The thing is
my one client is probably different than your client.
I never use xterm or rxvt, but I use aterm. Can I
please install JUST that?
Go for it. I prefer Eterm, so good thing our
distros come with both, eh?
I don't really use python, but Gnome does...
Well, technically, if you are using Gnome, then you are using Python. But whatever.
The bottom line is this, if distributions slimmed
down such that each one had it's own preferred
app set, then the number of distributions would
be enormous.
You'd have a distro with GTK apps, Mutt, and Mozilla, with another KDE, elm, Konq distro, and
yet another with TK apps, xterm, pine....
Then we'd all be in here bitching about
the hundreds of distros....Personally I prefer to
choose the apps at install time, and pick distributions based on other things, like package management tools and release cycles.
Reason: One character. Hmmm. Gee, might this be a troll?
the Lameness filter is pretty lame. I "decyphered" the parent text, and just wanted to
point out it was rot13. It calls me a troll because there's no reason for me to put text in the body. fuck that. now you have to read this.
Not sure about UK laws, but here in the states
there have been cases where people hire hitmen
to kill people, and those hitmen happen to be
undercover police officers. Crime? conspiracy
to commit murder.
In all the years I've worked in technical support,
I can honestly say that registry problems account
for 90% of my 'difficult' calls.
More often than
not is is much easier and quicker to simply reinstall the operating system than dive into the registry, or try and troubleshoot such an overly complex and error prone piece of garbage.
You realize that you're ripping off the wrong
people, right? Your local store already paid
the distributor for all the merchandise in that
store. The "horrible industry" got paid
for that CD long before you walked in the door.
Basically, you're stealing from the store owner,
who has bills to pay just like everyone else. Said
owner is getting screwed by the same "horrible
industry" as you are. Oh yeah, he also gets the
added bonus of getting screwed by you as well when
you walk out of the store without paying for that
CD.
The fishrap is mainly satirical. pretty funny
stuff. check out their website.
One of the distribution points for the fishrap
was at my polling place (Porter College). I believe they had to put the issues face down because of the headline and close proximity to the polls.
This is the most pathetic attempt at a troll I have ever seen.

dumbass.
Aqua skin? WTF are you talking about?
Come back when you have a clue.
Good point, but I seriously doubt anyone trading mp3s cares. They've been ripping off the artist themselves this whole time.
The record companies are just trying to get back on the screw-the-artist bandwagon.

They move there voluntarily. Part of the aging process...

we all wrote to our representatives in office or to the US patent office instead of posting comments here something would change
gotta love it

It's already been done. Check out http://www.hyperreal.com/tech/raveLAN/index.html
why can't they make it that small on normal machines? it takes up nearly all my RAM under normal linux
Actually, it's called consipracy, and is illegal. Were you surpised?

Free the music, d00d!
>Just buy the music if you don't you are a thief.
Alright. just so we're clear on that. Idiot.
