At first I wanted to get pissed at you. Then I saw this post. I feel like Im right at that age to be considered a Millennial (born in 87), but I find that most people my age and younger piss me off, and I never really got into social media outside of occasionally connecting with friends on Facebook. That, and apparently I tend to agree with the older folks her about stuff.

Worth noting that I only have a 93 Integra GS, but I'm planning on putting around $10k into her to make her track ready. I can see how some people just want a nice car, but my car makes me happy. I view it as an extension of myself (not in a materialistic way). The few times I really enjoy myself is driving through canyons and enjoying the road. Again, this is why I wont buy any of these new cars. The assisted steering systems makes it impossible to feel the road.

Your post only proves the point he was trying to make. All this random hate and vitriol at nerds lately, and then people come in and slam them even more. I was always the outcast at school, always introverted. I came out of my shell after HS (away from people like you), and I have a very expansive social life, tons of friends, and even dated a model for a bit. Not a supermodel though. The point is that assholes like you were why I was the way I was in HS. It was the stereotypes cast upon me by an outside group making sweeping judgments about who I am based on what I like. Everything that gets posted is basically "Not all men, but srsly, all men". Its about as see through as when someone starts a sentence with "I'm not racist, but..."

    Seriously, get bent.

I've already been warned by several supervisors that while in communication with certain people at my work, always send an email to them after the call to restate what was said on the phone conversation so I have a record of them telling me to do something. These people have a tendency to 'forget' things they tell others to do and it can lead to people getting fired.

But that is why I love WebEx Connect/Lync/etc. I always have a record of all conversations that I had with superiors. It's saved my ass quite a few times.

You're under the assumptions that all drug users are terrible people. I find it odd that 50% of people failed the drug test since they are very easy to beat. As for the whole IT thing, I was just saying that because it's the field that I work in, and would prefer to work. I just think its asinine that all these places require drug tests when the people that are the worst to work with are alcoholics. I'd rather have a stoner working for me than have someone who drinks their lives away. And yes, I've worked plenty of management positions before, including in the hiring process.

This was also stated before that people that use things like Meth, Crack, Heroin, and even chronic alcoholics will get past a drug test since most of the metabolites that are tracked in your system are gone within 3-7 days. Someone who smokes pot regularly and on their free time? Up to 30 days in urine, 15 days in saliva, and years in hair. The people that are most likely to get caught by a drug test are those that pose the least amount of problems to your business.

How about the IGF Scandal that came to light? The tl;dr version of it was Phil Fish tries to push a game that doesn't even meet the standards for what they needed (i.e. a finished game). They allow it in, he wins first price, gets tons of free press over the unfinished game. Then it comes to light that (I think) 5 of the judges had directly invested into the game. They are looking at racketeering charges over this. What does Phil Fish do? He self-doxxes him company and puts up the financial statements online then tells everyone Polytron is for sale.

Also, I think that if the guy just had a hard on for the game that ZQ released because it "was the sort of politically correct ground breaking art piece that critics often swoon over" - well, that is one thing. The fact that he had a sexual relationship with her and repeatedly mentioned the game in his articles is another. The thing here is that if media outlets want to be taken seriously, they need full disclosure. That is what the original fight was for, and that was one that was won. Where things are going now is more just a pissing contest then anything else between SJW and a bunch of guys that want things to be back the way they were.

My personal stance on this is that we do need more disclosure in the industry (especially after the guy at PCGamer that writes about UbiSoft was found to be dating the PR Rep from Ubi), and that we need #GG to stay on the ball to out these people... but I also believe that this shitstorm of harassment needs to die down on both sides.
