Noise, visual or auditory... It's just anoying and distracting from what I want to do. A suggestion from a website and a link will garner much more attention from me than some stupid flashing, bouncing, noisy ad. It's just like with television, when they turn the advertisements' volume up louder than the program you are trying to watch, damn that's annoying; I change channels until the commercials are over when they do that, or mute it and leave the room.
Advertisers need to try more "suggestions" instead of "commands" (ie: BUY ME NOW!).
If I had mod-points today, I would mod you insightful, or informative... but of course "they" didn't give them to me today. "They" knew I know and don't want the others to find out. Or maybe your whole post was a test by them to see if we know what they don't want us to know!
Encrypt your emails using GPG, connect to Google IM using Gaim and use the gaim-encryption plugin (http://gaim-encryption.sf.net./ Forward all your connections through random anonymous SOCKS proxies (remember, SSH can do that for you too, and there's a few places that offer free shell accounts). That should give you a little privacy.
It's not "being paranoid" when they really are out to get you.
I knew someone who had just got DSL, he was less than 1 mile from the junction, yet his service was crap. After many phone-calls and complaints, the phone company tracked it down to a 1 mile spool of wire that someone had just left on the line between his house and the junction.
There's a hidden check box in this post, solid white, when you click it, it turns solid white! If you get it, and you find the white button with white text, you win my money!
Seriously tho, I hope this doesn't become too widespread, I hate searching around websites for the options I need to select, I just want to click and go, not figure out what the designer was trying to accomplish.
*According to Gateway executives, their company has paid a high price for even its limited AMD dealings. They claim that Intel has "beaten them into 'guacamole'" in retaliation.
Heheh, that amused me beyond reason for some reason.
I like to boil them first to loosen the outer layer of crust built up from years of not showering and tree-hugging. Then you baste them with a nice pineapple BBQ sauce, bury them in a fire pit and let them slow roast for at least a full day.
From what I understand, almost all of the Samsung printers work fine in Linux. I use a ML-1430 laser here that I got new for $99 with a full toner. Samsung offers driver downloads on thier website, but cups seems to include drivers for almost everything they have already. They offer PPC and x86 Linux drivers on Samsung's site.
Samsung is really winning me over these days, from printers with Linux support to the nicest LCDs, I always keep an eye out for Samsung products when I am looking for something new.
I can't stand the trackballs that make you use your thumb to point at things, that isn't how you're fingers are supposed to work!:P.
It also seems pretty well suited for gaming, I do pretty well on UT2004. For some reason, when I game with it, I use inverted mouse and use right-click for forward (middle click secondary fire) compared to normal key setup I use with a regular mouse.

Yes I do! It just depends on which wavelength you're talking about :P.
But really, I believe the "dark matter" most people are talking about is the "exotic dark matter" that neither reflects, nor blocks radiation.
Mod parent insightful!
Just set a root password, or password protect the option in grub.
Always gets rid of the 'dirty' pictures.

I'd much rather have to deal with this gimp instead of the one from Pulp Fiction.

This was pretty close too, what would've some other man have done? Maybe even the other guy who was supposed to be on duty?

What about the ripoff fads, like Dancing Jesus, etc?
2. You can have IIS, AD and MSSQL on one machine. It is not recommended, but it is quite possible.
You can also shove hot pokers under your fingernails, it's not recommended.
Seriously though, each of those services you mentioned will sometimes hold a processor hostage, it's not really able to handle any load like that.
Maybe he just REALLY liked 2112.

I even convinced my bosses to buy a commercial Windows license for 3.1 (which I'm still using, btw).
:D
It's fun to take comments out of context!
Baby angels push them.

MMM
But, would it be cheaper than liposuction?
Yeah, but does the ISP really want to spend hours upon hours on the phone with the customer trying to clean the PC?

I've been using http://www.ontherun.cc almost weekly here in Las Vegas, they seem to work great, they have multiple cities.
Wow, talk about a glowing smile, I bet that would get you all the chicks.
I'm still in love with the Marble Mouse trackball from Logitech. I've been using it about 5 years I guess. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details /US/EN,CRID=2150,CONTENTID=5003 $19.95
:P.
