Holy crap that was hilarious. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE start a movie review site. I would read every one of your reviews. They would be forwarded to millions of people on the interweb.

You love VW's and space tremendously. Just for that the world needs you.

  2. You cant be a cult when you are on top on Why Doesn't Microsoft Have A Cult Religion? · · Score: 4, Insightful

You cant need a "cult" when you are the dominant entity by far. There is no function for that sort of entity to the current "winners".

It's also true in religion. The only reason the major religions arent called cults is they have established themselves at high enough #'s. Still same religion, ideology, etc. The only difference? #'s.

So, the massively dominant group of people that run windows/MS products sort of "are" the cult... but have already reached critical mass.

In some other reality where apple became dominant... then you could see a MS cult. But not happening... most of apples success if playing to the idea they are somehow an underdog little comapny that is cool.

ask normal people, and most wont even know what firefly/serenity is.

you'll get star wars and star trek. and sorry, but fanatics are that because they are a minority. would we be shocked if mormon was the #1 religion, when polled at a ward or temple? nope.

I believe the law takes things case by case.

The judge should see if the first has a case, and tell the other "if you want them to do the same thing, you need to sue them".

If I hit someones car with mine, and then they hit my car, I can certainly file a claim. If they want damages, they need to file back. They can't just say "we both hit eachother so theres no claim at all". Sure the damages might be equal, but most likely not... for instance, comparing YouTube to Ifilm are not equal at all in infringement. The article aknowledges YouTube has many more infringing content.

At first I thought the US government might be using it's PageRank power to make terms like "nuclear threat" bring up URL's like iran.gov (or whatever their whitehouse.gov correlary might be). In fact it was just a weak attempt to use the word bombing twice and mislead.

Instead, the US is just aknowledging that attacks on it's internet infrastructure can be responded to just like physical attacks.... by military attack.

Is anyone suprised that if one place was pinpointed as the source of the attack on any countries infrastructure it might be a target? I'm not. The net is more important than some buildings at this point.

The only thing I'm suprised is to expect any attack to be from one place... I'd expect it to be distributed. But thats ok, we have bombs for that too. ouch.
