The reason is because these people don't think it will ever happen to them. They're just as bad as the police with their racial profiling.
My neighbour is the same way. He figures this sort of thing will "only happen to towel heads".
Boy is he mistaken. And he(along with your mother and professor) would change his tune in a heartbeat if he really understood the full rammifications of these laws.
These laws weren't designed to take rights away from terrorists. They were designed to take them away from everyone, law abiding and law breaking alike.

  3. Re:removing of programs on EU May Fine Microsoft · · Score: -1
The fact remains, even if MS removes these programs from their default installation of Windows, users are going to go the Microsoft site and download them anyways. If they can't be bothered to look for alternatives now, what makes you think they will when you've taken away their MS toys? Microsoft has major brand recognition. You can bet they will be the first thing consumers think of when it comes time to search for that missing E-mail client or browser.
Removing bundled software isn't the answer. Including competitor's software is. I would have been much happier had my Windows disk come with browsers from five other competitors. It's called variety. "It'll add to the bloat", you say? Meh, I'm packing over 100 gigs of hard disk space here. Bloat is hardly an issue for me. I'm sure most people with even a 20+ gig drive will agree.

Just think of those poor shmucks who are still on 28.8 and 56k dialup. They don't want to deal with that kind of bullshit. They want their computer to work as soon as they bring it home. They don't care what it runs, as long as it does what they want it to do.

No doubt, there will be patents involved. The first thing they will patent is the Genome itself. So, only one major company will be able to make these vaccines. And the result will be prices that only the wealthiest will be able to afford.

Another good idea down the shitter.
