It's sad, but money has everything to do with it. They want to be compensated for their technology.
Everyone else who creates a DvD player has to pay these fees, so why shouldn't the guy who created DeCSS? I know DeCSS isn't a player, per say..But it's a means of playback nonetheless.
In the end, this isn't about whether DeCSS is or isn't legal. It's about the fact that the MPAA isn't getting their cut.
I'm not sure. Looking back on my previous posts, I haven't seen any that were moderated down since I started posting at -1 by default.
Also, if there is any relation to a -2 and the amount of negative karma you have, I haven't run into it yet. And I'm at -110.
Maybe someone would be kind enough to mod this post down and find out?

If you call copying everything Microsoft has ever done "shaping the world of technology", consider the Open Source movement the most "innovative" group in the world.
I have yet to see anything truly original written for Linux(Well, except for stability. I'll give you that one, lol).
