Let's hope they can come up with something better than, "Aliens take over, and you have to shoot all of them to save the planet" and "Aliens come back and take over, and you ahve to shoot all of them to save the planet...Again."

Every Doom/Quake game has fallen in line with the same story that made Doom what it was. And it got stale after Doom 2.

The elevator scene after the accident was fucking hilarious. You know why? Because it was UNEXPECTED. That's what made Halflife fun. It added a storyline to an otherwise mundane genre.
Let's hope ID will learn a thing or two from these people. They aren't the only fighters in the arena anymore. The days of Doom are gone.

Who said banner advertising was dead?
There's another kind of ad technique I've seen floating around(literally). It seems rather new. It's a shockwave ad that comes in the form of a floating logo that stops right in front of the content you're trying to read. You have no choice but to wait for it to start floating again before you can read what you came for.
Although, it's nothing a quick uninstall of shockwave won't cure.

Nah, it'll be more like this:

    • Mcaffee files a blantaly obvious patent
    • The patent happens to cover an idea that Microsoft is about to base their entire software strategy on (web services).
    • Light bulb goes on over a Microsoft VP's head - 'hey we should do something to stop this'.
    • McAffee are either "aqcuired" or mysteriously disappear overnight without a trace.
    • Both Symantec(who uses live Update. See: Patent violation) and Microsoft try to look innocent, all the while snickering under their breath.
    • Business as usual.. Nothing to see here, folks. Just move along.
