He can kiss my arse. I have better ways of dropping $660+ to play one game on the first day of buying a game system. Hopefully they realize they are being stupid right after sales tank.
Where is the science behind this article? How does it differ from a common alligator found in LA, or MS or any other southern state. This article http://www.nature.com/news/2006/060403/full/060403 -7.html in Nature makes to many assumptions.
The beast has bony scales and fins, but the front fins are on their way to becoming limbs; they have the internal skeletal structure of an arm, including elbows and wrists, but with fins instead of clear fingers.
How are they on thier way to becoming limbs when the animal is dead. That's like me watching a gator saying any day it's gonna walk on it's hind legs. That picture they have looks like the bones of an alligator gar, or an alligator. I can go get those on the weekend if I choose to.
Where's the evidence? When I can go get animals today that look just like that one in the image.
And that is the problem with evolution vs ID.. The evidence for ID is the fact that there is no evidence for evolution. Yes there are mutations and differences among species that evolve over time. But that is evident in the human race itself. It's why Americans are usually taller than Hispanicsand it's why there are black people, white people and every other color in between. But they are still human. There will always be differences within species, no one is the exact same as the other.
There will always be differences or mutations within species, but I highly doubt evolution is the reason because there are so many difference in animals, insects etc. If evolution were true then all life would evolve along the same paths, and there would be lots less diversity in creatures today.
There's not really a contradiction like it seems. Take a look at the time before Noah:
"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." Genesis 6:4.
That also goes along with the reason we don't live hundreds of years like Methuselah. Everything changed after the flood.
Yep, secular is a religion unto itself. Very shortsighted and arrogant. Where do you get that the earth is flat and has four corners? That's yet another failed method of man to describe the earth. Also since it took so long to get over that one it proves how arrogant man is.
How about this verse that can be understood as a basis for dark matter? How do you explain that? Is that worth rolling your eyes at?
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what IS SEEN (present tense) was not made out of what WAS VISIBLE. (past tense)
Dang, to me that pretty much explains the big bang! Everything just came into existance.
Don't get bad science confused with differing points of view. The vast majority of people in the US that are scientists believe in the Bible. They realize that what they are doing helps prove it more and more. Thing is they are comfortable in thier beliefs so they don't brow beat other people with them. Ignorance is much louder than intelligence.
It's people like you who desperately hold onto ignorant beliefs that mis-quote (ex. world is flat) what is actually written to prove your point. What so funny about it is your inability to do a little research into the matter (when i say little i mean 6 months) to find out the truth.
Being ignorant and lazy are the reason there are so many problems today. Unfortunately it's propagated by people who mistakingly cover thier ignorance with arrogance.
That's not a 'nice sentiment' it's the blatent truth. No matter what is said hardly anyone will change thier mind off a conversation on slashdot.
Now one question I have is are you going to raise your kids to believe in only what you believe in? That's an impressively vain and short-sighted goal. Basically you are saying you don't want them to learn any more than you do.
I would much rather teach my kids to tell the difference between right and wrong. Scientifically and religously. It's funny, in world geography the Bible is the oldest most accurate book. Problem is people don't mention all the other sciences it's extremely accurate in too.
If 'securlar' means short sighted and ignorant I'd much rather teach my kids in other ways. It's amazing to me how arrogant man is to think he can understand everything.
Ever notice that God wants us to have "FAITH" as the basis for our belief? Check out Hebrews 11:6. Mix that along with how much it hurt God to sacrafice his own Son and you see why belief and faith are so important.
Soo....
God wants us to believe in faith alone, so that means he has to make it look like he doesn't exist. So he works through natual stuff like atoms, cells, the everyday stuff of life. It's mans pride that tries to act like he knows everything. Darwinism is just ONE of man's attempts to scientifically explain what God created. And not fully proveable.. Doesn't mean it's fully right or wrong. It to each individual person to believe how much of which they believe in.
Main point is God is everything, so since we are living in/with Him it's going to look fully natural from our point of view. Wow.. that's almost impossible to put in words.
For another failed way of man explaining everything look at eugenics. That belief dang near wiped out this planet.
I think what Bush was trying to say is there's a fine line between doing genetic research that's good for society. And doing genetic research that's destructive to society because it has a possibilty of cheapening life.
Think about the implications of both scenarios for a min. In one way we find amazing life saving drugs, and in another we become slaves because life doesn't matter anymore. Yes, that is extreme in both ways but look at the way most people here are reacting to his speech.
Problem is I don't trust all scientists enough to let them do unlimited research. I also don't trust congress to lay down sane laws that govern the science research. Mainly because who knows what is right or wrong in this situation? The science behind genetics is still relatively new. It should not be strictly goverened by heavy handed laws that are laid out without some serious considerations of thier implications.
This takes irresponsible to a whole new level. Any company in thier right mind should have shredders/chippers in thier finance department for any waste paper.
Since having your identity stolen is so difficult to recover from I think anyone that has had thier info. sent out should sue if thier identity is stolen. Then the company gets to pay for the next five years of credit cleanup for the person.
Hit'em in the pocketbook and they'll pay more attention.
Where has common sense gone? Lately all I hear is accusations following partisan lines that are just ridiculous. Being from a family with a military background I regard personal liberty and freedom two of the most important privileges Americans have. An uncountable number of Americans have died in order for you to have those privileges that are taken for granted every day.
Along with the privilege comes responsibility that people take for granted now. The most important one being the privilege of voting. Instead of learning about thier political candidates through 30 mins. of research; they rather hear what CNN, FOX or some other news agency describes them as. The most important fact to that person is if they are a republican or a democrat. That is irresponsible. Then they act as armchair lawyers stupidly defending thier views with quotes from news agencies.
The blatant fact is over 2500 people died when it may have been prevented with wire-tapping. If wire-tapping could have saved the lives of 2500 people than I agree with it. If a political leader I helped elect in office wants to do something that has been done for years I will support it. Even if the official I don't want in office makes it I am not going to say anything against it if it's possible to save lives.
If an agency hears an international call I make they are going to be bored out of thier mind because I have nothing to hide. Instead of saying the government is transparant maybe we should look at ourselves and see if we have anything to hide. Then think, is someone listening to my calls even on accident worth 2500 lives?
If you know the background of your politician you will trust them with the power. Even with the opposing political party gains office your votes for senators or congressmen will keep him in check. Not to mention the media trying to gain todays big story.
Instead of stupidly insulting leaders come up with new ideas that will do what needs to be done. Only ignorant people go around saying stupid this or idiot that. Instead of being armchair lawyers do something productive, develop ideas to find threats.
If half the energy of griping about politicans was put toward working for the better of American society this would be an even better place to live.
ACE http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/ACE.html is one of the best all around libraries that they have. Right now i'm using it and the STL within the same environment. They do really well at complimenting each other. ACE is very good if you need a prototype/test server quick.
"Firstly if God created everything, who created God?"
God is. To our preception He doesn't come from anywhere. Until you can understand why everything in the universe exists than this is true. God is.
"Secondly what you are suggesting would basically lead to a complete collapse of the education of your nation."
Looks like there's already been a collapse in the education system. Bush is suggesting that Creationism (sp?) should be taught along with evolutionism. What is wrong with that? He's not saying that we should beleive one over the other. How is the system we have now currently conductive to advancing science when only one theory is being taught. Until something is proved true it's only a theory, and all theorems should be taught until one is proven true.
How can you even say or think that the US is evil, take a look at these publicly available numbers.
WWI 489,540 Americans killed, 2 million civilians killed cost 300 billion 1920 American Money.
WWII 1,017,350 Americans killed or wounded, 5 million casulties cost 2 trillion dollars 1945 American Money.
Now all those "evil" Americans died so you can have freedom of speech, religion, and many other freedoms you take for granted each and every day.
Why don't you stop being a weak little "i'm only 26", grow up and quit taking your entire lifestyle for granted. You can lay your thanks on the graves of Americans who died for OTHER countries freedom along with ours around the world.
How can anyone be so naive to think the US is evil.
There is no arguing with history. Why don't you look it up, but go back to the 1800's. Jews decided to move into a very narrow srip of land that was pretty worthless and desolate. Which is why the temple's name is al-Masjid al-Aqsa (the farthest mosque). In a general rundown the Muslim religion hates infedels(sp?) so they have decided to get rid of it:
"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." (The Martyr, Imam Hassan el-Banna)
Now, if YOU go back and do your research and I don't mean recent "he bombed us so we bombed him" stuff. Then maybe you will not hold the "ignorant opinion" that you do.
Israel is in a fight for it's life. But most Americans don't understand it because of the media. The media puts a secular spin that is not accurate. Some americans may like secularism which in itself is a religion, but others in the world know there is a God out there and fight for thier beleifs. That includes Christianity, Jews, and Muslims.
But this is not my reason for this post. If people here like preaching compassion, then they should practice it.
Lots of replys here talk about compassion from the democratic party? That is a joke, perfect example is the amount of hate in these posts. Don't mention compassion if you are talking ranting. If you were truly compassionate you would realize some interesting facts:
1. Genocide in Africa - This is caused because there are over 600 references in the Koran to killing Christians and Jews. Muslims are creating a huge refugee problem the world is just now noticing by killing off all the Christians in hopes to purify thier country.
2. War in Iraq - I would rather fight a coming war on other countries turf. Not on our own. I have lots of relatives buried in other countries who beleive in the USA and what it stands for. I would rather have those relatives buried there then your mother or brother or sister buried here when it could have been advoided. Saddam violated rules left and right from the UN. The US was trying to give a backbone to the UN, but failed in doing so. The UN has turned into lets hate the US club because we are powerful and successful.
3. Isreal/Palistine problem - Why would a Bush waste his time when Clinton gave the Palistenians 98% of what they wanted and they still WILL NOT accept Isreal as a soverign state. The reason they WILL NOT accept Isreal is from the 600+ references in the Koran mentioned above. It's time to drink a big cup of wake up and get real on this issue people.
Now once you realize what is going on you can talk about compassion. I'm sick of hearing that word from people who are very self-serving and want everything now.
I don't see how anyone after reading this article can vote for Kerry. It's basically saying that we should give up all our rights/freedom for what a terrorist wants.
If we did what everyone else always wanted there would be no USA, no freedom to voice your opinion, or any other aspect of living that people take for granted every day.
Stand up and vote. It's more important than you think.
Ok, so thier trying to have other companies pay for thier own stupidity?
