Firewire is far better than USB 2.0...

USB depends on the processor for its speed, where Firewire is its own chip. In my opinion far better, besides the fact that you can also charge your iPod while it's connected without needing soem damn power supply.
...merely put some Apple parts in a PC case. Can you say case mod? As for the price, you can buy a used G4- AGP for $800 easy, so this saves you no money, and if your time is worth money you lose. As for his assertation that you can't put a DVD, CD, and Zip in and Apple cased, wrong, Hell my 9600 had all those and 3 SCSI drives inside. So big whoopdeee dooo for this guy. For the money I'll just buy the new dual 867.
a lot of the Quadras can run OS 8, my 950 does... though it is a matter of 020 030 and 040 processors. 020 won't, 030 can be tricked into it very easily, kinda like running OSX on legacy machines. 040 definately can.

Apple is absolutely correct on this. If you buy an Apple with a Superdrive you get iDVD bundled with it for free. There is no other way to get iDVD. If you are trying to use it with another DVD burner you are pirating the software to try and use it, plus it won't work without a patch to enable it to work with NON-Apple DVD burners. So quit your whining, most DVD burners come with some sort of software bundled with them, use this ot get an Apple with a Supedrive. Nuff said.
a mere troll who dosn't know dick. has nothing of merit to post. Apple is doing great sucker, their superdrive rocks, you don't... I really hope that DVD formats can stabilize, that way more people can enjoy being able to burn their own movies etc. I just wish that more people could just respond to the thread and quit trolling like a moron...

...all the tests I have read have declared Firewire the winner. Explaination, USB 2 relies on your processor for the spead of throughput, Firewire has its own chip...nuff said..
I have not yet run into a USB or Firewire device that will not work on a Mac. And I don't look on the box to see what they say, cause most of the engineers just conform to the standards, and if it is made to the standards it'll work on a Mac. If your trying to run a digital camera or MP3 player through a parallel port your wasting my time.
I seem to find a lot of machine via surplus auction/sales ($25-$45). then upgrade the processor (G3 or G4 $125-$250)and RAM ($100) and run them all day every day no problem. OSX rocks my socks. Though I really love my Cube, art!
... and I remember listening to Iggy & the Stooges followed by the Nuge, Zep, and then someof your so called Punk Rock, did that deal as well. I believe that the job Stacy did on the film is right on the money.
i don't believe the "mac hardware is more expensive" myth. if you price it out as far as the quality of components I feel the mac comes out ahead. i mean come on usb, firewire, giga ethernet, cd-rw, dvd-rw, etc. and the cases are far superior to the ones available for x86's.
... didn't mcrosucks pretty much rip apple's ad soon after it came out. I remember it doing so, so why not blame bill, they ship w/ the tools to steal as well....

what's up with all the soda's containing phosphoric acid these days? what is the point of having a corrosive acid in a consumable?
actually with an Xserve and a power mac you'll want 2 different OS's. One of OSX and one of OSX Server. Different animals.
