Actually, in less than about 40 years, it will be 'me first'. I have no children, so I'm doing my part to nip the population explosion in the bud. For that matter, so are my brother and one of my sisters. Out of us four siblings, there are only 2 children.
I already had most of the components laying around, but I did buy power supplies for the Pi's. I also have one in the attic running dump1090 and the upload client for flightradar24 - it has no case either, and I'm using a <$15 RTL tuner from nooelec.com.
Flash Card: $6 Case: None - taped naked to the back of the TV Power: About $7 HDMI Cable: $3 Ethernet cable: already had tons laying around, or could make one for $1
According to this, the deadline for many 1099-ish forms is actually February 18th, and Fidelity in particular has chronically received special dispensation until MARCH 17TH!!!

I use a stock $35 Pi running XBMC with no other hardware needed - what did you spend the other $65 on? I use the XBMC iPhone app to control it - no need for a remote. The Pi is taped to the back of the TV with ethernet and power plugged in.
No, not an appeal to authority. I simply pointed you to an article showing that at least one engine manufacturer doesn't see the point of investing BILLIONS in F1 if the engines they're required to develop are based on normally-aspirated, relatively large V8s that are no longer in line with the direction of the auto industry. They want to be developing engine technology that has a return on investment and that is applicable to their core business - you know, road cars?
Renault disagrees with you. They made "I'm gonna pull of out F1 if you don't use engine technology that is applicable to consumer autos" noises. They got their wish, with the help of the French F1 head dude Jean Todt.
Note that you do NOT purchase the movie on the disk, you purchase the physical media and a license to view the disk in any manner the studio decides as terms of the license.
The first few support my stance, and the last two do not seem to, however I think they're wrong in that renting out a movie does not constitute 'disposal' of the DVD. BTW IANAL, YMMV.
FWIW, the magic number '5449610000583686' mentioned in the article passes the Luhn Algorithm, and is therefore valid as a credit card number. The BIN indicates the card was/would be issued by the following bank, transcribed from this site:
Bin: 544961 Card Brand: MASTERCARD Issuing Bank: HSBC BANK (PANAMA) S.A. Card Type: CREDIT Card Level: PLATINUM Iso Country Name: PANAMA Iso Country A2: PA Iso Country A3: PAN Iso Country Number: 591
And since it was a non-US carrier, it was required to have an ADS-B mode-S capable transponder which has a burned-in hex address that cannot be easily changed, so some level of modding/diag manipulation would have to happen.
For some reason Dr. Cox's delivery irritates the hell out of me - I can't watch him for very long. I don't know if it's the pacing of his speech or what.
... it was completely expected for the pests to overcome it...
Let me put that in context: "it was completely expected for the pests to overcome it since the seed company bought off congresscritters to not require refuges to prevent resistance."
Page 24 of their paper shows an even worse capacity vs temp curve that they arrived at experimentally. They determined that they'd have to provide battery heaters to maintain sufficient battery capacity for their needs.
Temperature has a very large effect on the storage capacity of the batteries they use to store the generated power until needed. Currently (hah!) they bury the batteries to protect them from 'temperature extremes'. As shown in this PDF, the capacity of a gel cell drops off quickly once you hit about 0C. At -20C you've lost 50% of your capacity.
Too bad they chose a gel battery instead of an AGM one - according to this PDF, the AGM has superior low temp performance, although the gel cell tolerates deep discharges better. "Gel battery power declines faster than an AGM battery as the temperature drops below 32F (0C)."
My local reactor is a bit farther away (28 mi), but they're attempting to license a new gen III+ reactor!

I believe that's my line.

Jaime Sommers
I had the most massive crush on her as a young teen. Wowzers!
We have that with tire measurements - 205/45R17 is a 205mm wide tire with a 0.45*205=92 mm sidewall, made for a 17 INCH rim.
They have weight sensors in the seats for that very reason (or at least should).

...protein, for example, is used to build/repair structures and is not burned as "fuel".
I guess all of the carb-free Eskimos died from starvation - wait, no they didn't.

And Bill Nye had the ever so cute and perky Suzanne Mikawa on the show. She made a lot of teenage boys very interested in science.
That's because websphere runs by default on IBM's proprietary JVM.

Your wish was once frighteningly true. Dr. Lobotomy used to drive around in his lobotomobile doing lobotomies with an ice pick.
+1 for peaking [sic] my curiosity.
That would be piquing.

The temperature is irrelevant ...
