Who exactly do you think I am? I'm someone who dances with my bootyass as I please like corn on peas! You have no chance of standing up to my true ferocity!
So why not just switch to Gamemaker!? It is futile to lie to yourself by denying Gamemaker's true greatness. Return to Gamemakerdom right this minuteness!
Why you little...! You'd better start using Gamemaker before you truly make my cheeks boil as such never before! Clones such as you need to return to Gamemakerdom right this minuteness and stop spreading such misinformation!
You could be doing something good with your time (clearly multi-tasking is impossible)! Stop posting on Slashdot and do something noteworthy! Whether or not you're asking for money is irrelevant. You could be aiding people for free!
I've come across a frighteningly high number of individuals who have a "nothing to hide nothing to fear" mindset. They support things like the Patriot Act without even thinking about.
Very, very disturbing. I really hope they're the minority.
Because copyright isn't strictly for the author. Its intended purpose is to encourage innovation (which doesn't mean living off of previous creations forever). Monopolies should be avoided where possible. That's why people want to limit how long copyright lasts to a reasonable amount of time.
Agreed. I think the best way is to not buy it new, not pirate it, and not buy it used. The former helps them directly, while the latter two could provide free advertising.
Well, you're saying this in response to people who don't seem to be saying that Bioware has an obligation to change the ending. I've seen very people who said anything to that effect.
why do we give them freedom to assemble, or vote, or buy guns, or have kids?
Because that's very similar to collective punishment, and it has nothing to do with limiting the government's authority (authority the average person doesn't have).
There is no perfect system; no one to my knowledge denies that. However, if you give people lots of authority, there will be abuses. More so than with the average person. We want to minimize this as much as we can without completely getting rid of the useful functions of said authority figures.
Oh wait, we'd all rather criticize their work and lack of intelligence/ethic/etc. from our arm chairs
Whether it's from their "arm chairs" or somewhere else, this by no means affects the validity of their criticisms.
if you don't like the game make your own or buy something else.
It seems this is a false dilemma. There is a third option, and one that many people seem to be choosing: voice your criticism, and then vote with your dollar. That has a chance of actually changing something.
but bioware isn't obligated to do shit about your complaints.
This is a straw man. No one ever said they were (well, most people didn't). They will either listen or they won't. It's that simple.
I would've used Gamemaker and a bit of sloppy logic to convert the film to 3d. Or, at least, that's what we True Programmers would do.
Did you just suggest that every True Programmer shouldn't use Gamemaker?
Isn't it time for you to switch to Gamemaker?
It's too hard. I give up! What's the answer?

What's your problem? Do you have something against Gamemaker?
and apparently you
Looks like he only cared about commenting.

And still others did it for free.
There shouldn't have to be laws for people not to steal, and people who steal are thieves whether there's a law saying so or not.
In other cases, rather than being thieves, they're just copyright infringers. But that really is dependent upon the copyright laws in your country...
Stop rationalizing, man. You keep doing that thing!
These amateurs! These amateurs! These amateurs! These amateurs! These amateurs need to use Gamemaker!
I think an unbiased third party needs to resolve this matter. Calm down, everyone. Just calm down.
Use Gamemaker. Return to Gamemakerdom right this minuteness.
Shut up and use Gamemaker, friend. Your internet is nothing compared to Gamemaker's true ferocity.

Something like author's lifetime + 20 years.
What? That's an absurdly long time. I'd accept no more than 15 years, and even that's probably more than is "needed."
If they're not careful, they'll turn into another US. Draconian copyright laws abound!
But it's pretty difficult to 'steal' an IP, anyway.

There is no grounds to say you are a pirate.
"The company still lost potential profit! Used games are bad! Filthy pirates!"
