  1. Sorry, but I only see a reference to plain bacon, without mentioning the method of producing it.

  2. Yeah, like the loss of nutrition already caused by the (over-) use of chemical fertilizers, always re-cropping the land without resting, maximizing the yield, i.e.: extracting as much nutrients from the soil as possible (without of course returning them).
The problem you mention is already there without CO2 increase.

  3. The article stated that due to the increased intake of carbs they ate less venison and fish.
I think that's a 'variation' in their diet that better had not come to them.

  4. When you cure it with nitrates and/or nitrites to kill off any bacteria, then it's definitely not healthy, as these preservatives, that are meant to kill bacteria, continue to do so in your intestines, wreaking havoc on your beneficial intestinal flora's bacteria.

  5. This wasn't a thread on the techniques of curing (meat into) bacon.
Bacon isn't bad at all if you leave out the preservatives.

And please bring back the copper clads in the hospital, door plates, stairs, door knobs, bedsides, chairs etc.
Copper kills bacteria, including the antibiotic-resistant ones, everybody knows that, except apparently the hospital staffs.
Silver also, but that might be a bit too expensive.
Dead bacteria can not be transferred to other people...

Ok, there was a 'slight' calculation error in that one which slashdot doesn't allow me to correct.
But still, I can't believe that pound/4 is all real meat. Let alone anything like organic...
    Actually it's about 450/4=112.5 g, slightly over 100 g indeed.

And, do you really think that's all meat?
