    I had a box of Ritz crackers, and on the back of the box of Ritz crackers it had all these suggestions as to what to put on top of the Ritz. It said "Try it with turkey and cheese." "Try it with peanut butter." Oh, c'mon man, they're crackers.
    That's why I got 'em -- I like crackers. There ain't no suggestion: "Put a Ritz on top of a Ritz." I didn't buy 'em 'cuz they're little edible plates.

    You think that Intel can keep Dell an Intel-only house and keep up the profits there? I'd bet that Intel would sell chips to Dell at cost just to keep them. There's a Dell controller out there that's taking plenty of advantage from all this AMD news.

    I dunno the potential is always there- I've had mail that was incorrectly addressed and opened to find the correct address, and I've had (torn up) open letters come to me in a little plastic bag with an apology for the overly-agressive mail machine. Who knows who saw what was inside?

    Even that report says that the connection between education, poverty and the number of children isn't really understood. It does say that they know that women who are educated are more likely to be in the labor force to help educate their children. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but it's interesting. Thanks again!

    And the amount of offspring is inversely proportional to the social level.


    I'm not entirely convinced that this holds true- It does now when social status is pretty well linked with someone's work/social schedule. Granted there's lots of single parents with many kids that are forced to work long hours, but I'd say that the majority of 'successful' people would say that they don't have time for children. I know pretty much nothing of history, but I'd bet that the well-to-do from the feudal era were the people that had the most time and resources to host larger families.

    But isn't something like 90% of Canada's population within 100 miles of the Canadian/US border? If population density is averaged over the entire country for statistics, but then broadband penetration is measured as percentage of population with broadband accessability it wouldn't jive.

    Of course, like most Slashdotters, I didn't read the article and I did no actual research.

    That would depend on your defenition of 'broken', now wouldn't it? :)
