Actually, material design looks a heck of lot more like iOS 7/8 than Holo theme ever did. It's (material) also a recommended design pattern for iOS apps by Google. They want material design to span across Android, iOS, and html websites.
How many people here would take one look at that UI and assume that the + meant 'mod this up'?
But seriously, why a plus sign inside a square? Why not an oblong marked ALARM?
The "+" has an association with numbers and your mod points affect a post's score. A thumbs up/down may have conveyed this more clearly , but then you run into issues with cultural interruptions of hand gestures(go ahead, thumbs up a middle eastern).
Compared to Vista/Win 7's explorer, Finder is one of the areas I really find lacking, that and horrid mouse acceleration. In Windows 7 the folder tree navigator with a detail view is exactly what I need. I don't want to have to toggle between tree and details view just to get a decent look at my documents. I have reservations about Windows address bar's IE styling, but its functionality is spot on. Navigating back out of directories is a breeze and I always know where my folders are located on my drives. In contrast, breadcrumbs in osX are buried in text menus and the "Path" drop down menu is hidden by default.
Thankfully the $30 upgrade fee is very reasonable and I'm looking forward to having my bootcamp partition recognize my mac partition.
A nice cheap solution, but I'd imaging it would be time consuming. Not to mention you would lose the benifit of realtime manipulation and have a reliance on traditional materials.
I'm very excited to see the simulation of pigment on paper. I just hope that headway can be made on input devices. Wacom tablets are a nice start. Though the slickness of Wacom tablets can be a challenge to get used to. You can lay a sheet of paper over the tablet to add some resistance, but then the nib of the pen wear outs quickly.
Something in a the form of a force feedback pen would be amazing. One that you could set the resistance and the smooth/roughness of the surface you wish to emulate. If one already exists I would love to get some info.
I have a question. I haven't read into digital ink to any great extent, but I was wondering how easly these things coud be defaced? Do magnetic fields have any effect on these babies? If some sort of a electrical charge was dragged over the board how would this effect the image?
Now the main problem isn't the artists its the recording industry and RIAA in general. Considering, on average, the artist(for which the cd is made in the first place) only recieves a measly buck and that may be even less if it is placed in a large band setting(more than 3 ppl).
Artists should never be undersold and it seems like society has a serious problem understanding/respecting their creative members.
Quite? May I recommend the Antec Sonata case(about $100). Its specificly designed for quite opperation, one of the quitest on the market. It is a mid tower case so space wise it might not fit your needs but is quite and doesn't say bling bling I have a retarded neon light in my case(black gloss finish, no windows). Then just purchase a silent oriented fansfor your cpu

ok I'm having some problems doing that math.
muti-million dollar CEO = working class man that gets multi-thousands and a bobble head doll(of the other man he is supposed to be equals with)?
Doesn't quite add up but then again maybe I should have contiued on to calculus.
oh and the CEO mostlikely gave himself some retarded end of the year bonus worth more then this mans pay check(which before the sales slump was the bare minimum of a million dollars).
now if your saying this guy should move on to a company that treats their workers as equals, then let me ride your train

No major updates to Finder's functionality. Ugh!

It may have been a hardpoint carried over from the Lockheed D-21/M-21 (modified A-12s that had a recon drone ridding piggyback).

Could be... but if you gloves had some sort of a low electric current or even a magnet to trigger the buttons you would have nothing to worry about.
can you put this in perspective though what is the size of the SS engines compared to the areospike?

Sorry to burst your bubble but its been like this for sometime now.
The bottom line is the artists need to live too.

oh no stock photos run! :(
not to mention the lack of boat ramp accesses that would even make this feasable
Guess I should have clarified the statment. I was hoping the joke was a joke in and of itself. That was mind numbing.
I would try to post some humours reply to this article, but in its wake of its stupidity all I can do is blankly stare at the mouse infront of me
