    The point is - there will be no move to H2 for automobiles.

    Something else to ponder - there is more H2 in a galon of gas than in a galon of LH2.

    Also - No one is talking about using LH2 - that is why LH2 and H2 are listed alone.

    There is much energy in the double bonds of carbon - Hydorgen as a fuel is not backed by the laws of physics.

    I've used both - and once I realized that the wajig command makes apt-get user friendly, there is no comparrison (I tried Suse first, but now I use Debian).

    and for a GUI tool - (sort of a "Add/or Remove programs" on steriods) look at synaptic.

    Apt-get has been GPL from the start once again showing that Debian is the heart and soul of Linux/OSS/GPL/GNU.

    How true - Suse may be Linux, but it sure isn't Debian.

    Debian is the true heart and soul of the OSS/GPL/GNU world.

    An example might help - Are the GUI configuration tools in Susue available to the rest of the Linux world?

    Quite true - the spec for broadcast quality has to do with the NTSC standard and is set by NAB.

    All compression will cause some degrade to the image. The artifacts from the toaster were not bad for it's time. Also because it was free of cascading depredation it was a good choice for video editing at the time.

    Sorry to tell you- but the toaster was/is full broadcast quality.

    Lightwave - a related product is used by hollywood - remember the opening scene in "Men In Black" where there is an animated dragon fly? That was all Lightwave.

    Toaster plus Flyer = NLE

    I think people should discount anything else in the post by rduke as he does not know anything about the toaster.

    I worked on this project (in 1995) testing hard drives to see if they were fast enough.

    The reason it was so popular was that the compression used did not introduce artifacts from editing. It is because the compression does not use the previous frame data as some of the others do.

    2- Social contract - no hidden down the road costs.

    3- Is the heart of OSS and Linux

    4- Not bean-counter centric

    5- 12,000 packages ready to install

    6 - Fastest at security updates.

    7 - Well I could go on, but after testing Debian, Mandrake, Suse, and Redhat it was clear that Debian is "THE" deal.
