"Whereas "Eudora" is a branded version of Thunderbird with some extra features added by the Eudora developers, "Penelope" is an extension (also called an "add-on") that is used in Eudora and can also be used with Thunderbird. The Eudora installer includes the corresponding version of Penelope along with it so there is no need to install Penelope if you are installing Eudora. Most features in Penelope can be accessed when used with Thunderbird, but there are a few that require Eudora in order to work correctly and it's not something that gets tested."
Can anyone un-WTF that paragraph for my tired little brain? Eudora is basically like Thunderbird, and Penelope is an extension that works with either to make it behave like...Eudora? Wait, what?
It has nothing to do with lung capacity. From TFA:
Of course, on Earth, you could hold your breath for several minutes without passing out. But that's not going to help in a vacuum. In fact, attempting to hold your breath is a sure way to a quick death. To make it for even a few seconds, Sunshine's Mace must have expelled the air from his lungs before he ventured into the starry void. If he hadn't, the vacuum would have caused that oxygen to expand and rupture his lung tissue, forcing fatal air bubbles into his blood vessels, and ultimately his heart and brain.
You've hit the nail on the head here. The poster apparently wants to make SPF totally useless for the rest of the internet, to avoid reconfiguring his mail server (either to ignore SPF on forwards from "vanity domains" or to, oh I don't know, ignore SPF altogether). It's interesting that the best complaint people can come up for an optional scheme is that it breaks something they have full control over if they choose to use it...
Kudos to Mr. Lessig for realizing that we need smart people to treat the disease, and not just its symptoms. On the other hand, he's just expanded his target by a couple orders of magnitude...
If Safari turns out to be better than Firefox, they deserve to take their marketshare. If not, well, Apple deserves to see this fall flat on its face. But I guess "OMG teh evils corporashuns!!11!" is likely to attract more readers...
I'm sure they'd make the argument that they're paying to be included - the fact that other platforms are excluded is just an unavoidable consequence of their inclusion being exclusive.
Man, I shoulda been a lawyer - what an awful sentence...:)
Now the legitimate customers of Microsoft will probably have to jump through even more hoops.
Why does some assclown running F/OSS software think he's entitled to free updates from Microsoft? I don't have much love for Microsoft in general, but I have to side with them on this. Buy their software, get their updates. Don't buy it, don't get 'em. What's so fucking hard about that? These people would probably get all bent out of shape if someone violated the GPL, but for whatever reason, they don't see any reason to respect anyone else's licensing terms...
Considering I pay 2.9% to borrow the cost of my car, and I can easily make double that investing my savings, I have to disagree with you on that part of things.
Predictably, though, the site is just about impossible to get to right now. Judging from the Google cache there are 8 DVDs each with 4 episodes, for $17.95 each.
Hmm, that is damn strange, to be sure. Whatever the real cause, it seems like traffic shaping is probably at the root - maybe you've stumbled upon the secret code to bypass upload restrictions. Like the Time Warner version of "Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start":)
Had any of them voted against this resolution, it would have immediately been held up as proof that they loved pedophiles and hated America - and a substantial portion of the electorate would have bought it hook, line, and sinker (just like this resolution). C'mon, you think I'm trolling, but you know I'm right.
Can any collaboration these companies use actually be trusted by reviewers and the public to base a purchasing decision on?
No. There is some room for an "Unless..." argument, but frankly, "reviews" like this are so biased that no sane person should knowingly take them into account while evaluating a purchase. Unless (hah!) it's as a strike against the companies doing it. But you're screwed on both sides, there, so...
Seriously, this guy is smart enough to design and build this bike in his spare time, but not to buy a fucking helmet??
Seriously, can we get some new tags for moderation already?
You've got it backwards - it's 99% hard work, and 1% luck. The 1% luck component just happens to account for 99% of the money most of the time...
Something's likely amiss with your brother's PC, then - I managed to get all the way through it, twice, without a single crash, let alone a BSOD...

How about "not watching the fucking show"? I get so sick of this argument...no one is forcing you to do a damn thing.

This gamer says Molyneux needs to talk less and deliver more. This guy is in grave danger of being relegated to has-been windbag status.
Problem solved. God, politicians are some dumb fuckers. That, or businesses are paying them off to write really dumb laws...hmm... :(
They want you to know that points 2 and 3 won't be valid in a couple more years, unless you insist on writing web apps with 1999 technology.
AMD is only just now moving to a 65-nanometer process
That's a nice thought, except it's totally wrong. All their Brisbane core X2 chips are on 65nm now, and have been for quite awhile.

I'm sorry, Mac OS 8 was NOT that great of an OS.
Shit, it wasn't any worse than Windows 95!
(Not that either of them were great...)

They probably can't "shape" your encrypted connection...

But hey, this is Slashdot after all, so I guess I should just be lucky this article isn't both a dupe and accompanied by a misleading headline.
