I expected troll, flamebait, maybe even funny -- but Informative? Jebus.
And my comment about MS office being slow is mostly in comparison to previous releases of Office. My computers keep getting faster and faster, but MS Office keeps getting slower and slower. I have tried to use OpenOffice, and oh my, what a pig that was.
Kozmo started charging for delivery on orders under $30 at least a year or so before they went under.
Further, they were turning a profit in both Boston and New York -- both very dense cities where deliveries were easily made via bicycle. Not so in some of their later expansions (Dallas comes to mind).
Well, the end of Google as a "do no evil" company, anyway. With that many damn cooks in the kitchen, it's only a matter of time (IMNSHO) before someone spoils the recipe.
Well, according to iTunes, it would take me 29.4 days to listen to my 10,510 songs, taking up 54.92GB space on disk. Figure 8 hour days, and that's still only three months.
IMHO, the best implementation of "quick" chat items was in Tribes 2 -- three keystrokes, starting with "V", could express a huge variety of things quickly. Much quicker and less disruptive than the current BF2 system, and undoubtedly more efficient than using F-keys.
However, I really DO like the ability to "spot" hostiles for your comrades via the rose. I wish people would use it more often...
Does anyone remember when computers and computer companies didn't suck?
Me neither.

You should probably take that up with the case manufacturer. I'm not surprised Newegg didn't want to do anything but a return/exchange on that. Most likely they would have to return the whole thing to the vendor anyhow to get a credit.
That's a great site...I may just order up a fishing hat.
Another place I have used with great success is Cooperstown Ballcap. They custom make all the caps, so they are a little pricey, but they'll do sizes up to 8 1/2, and (most importantly, for my dome) they let you do high-crown hats. I've ordered four caps from them, and have been very pleased with the fit and the quality. No hardhats, though, just every baseball cap you could imagine (including the Springfield Isotopes).
And no, I don't work for them, I'm just a satisfied customer with a very large head!:)
Microsoft has stated that they'll stick to counting a processor as a processor, no matter how many cores. Oracle (and others) appear to be headed the opposite direction...
This would probably be a mildly interesting article if he stopped talking out of his ass for a couple paragraphs. It's too bad, I'd probably agree with him if he could write.
Yes yes, I know, I was just being a smartass. Plus I botched my flamebait tags.
In all seriousness, perhaps Mozilla should just take the lead on this and remove frame support entirely. That would certainly solve this particular issue.
When you consider that you're going to need to get a second video card, if you don't already have on lying about
If you have any "gamer" video cards, you probably don't need another card. All the nvidia cards I have with Analog and DVI outputs can drive both simultaneously using nView to manage things (including separate resolution/sync/etc on each monitor, if not identical). Granted, using an analog output with a nice LCD rubs me the wrong way, but I know you can get dual-DVI consumer cards now.
Because a lot of us run Windows not because we want to, but because we have to
No kidding. In our case, we simply cannot have ANY cross-platform problems going back and forth with our two main mega-corporate clients. They're 100% Windows, therefore, whether I hate it or really hate it, most of our users are on Windows as well.
For the guy who approves my paychecks (a very important man!), the decision to not piss off these two large clients was worth risking my gloom and doom security scenarios. In the long term, we can probably afford to eat some downtime due to viruses, spyware, etc, but we almost certainly cannot afford to lose one of our two largest clients. In another 5 years? Maybe a different story. But for now, this is The Way It Is.
No decisions can be made [well] in a vaccuum; IT problems are no different. This is precisely why the "cowboys" you mention in your last paragraph are such a problem (whether pro-Windows, or pro-something else).
Here (in N.C.) we can get, online, complete addresses along with full color photos. I find that a little creepy, personally.
If they're that big a threat, I think residence in jail and/or a psych facility is preferable. It just baffles me that people can get so worked up about sex offender registration, but wouldn't dream of raising taxes a little bit to pay for greatly increasing the duration of incarceration.
Outlook 2000 requires that you set a registry key, but it works just fine. It took all of about 30 seconds on google to find this info last time I needed it.
It's not a great alternative (compared with a default, or at least a real live menu option), but hey, at least it works.

Now my office application experience can be just like the rest of my web experience -- slow, poorly designed, and ad-ridden! Yay!
Although I guess in fairness, MS Office has the first two items covered already.
150c? That's just amazing...I'd figure components would have been melted at that point. I guess I shouldnt worry about my overclocked 6600GT at 75c!

Weird. Hacrobat didn't show me page two, so I guess I only got half TFA. Thanks.
How the hell was it generated? A capacitor farm? 32 trillion hamsters on exercise wheels?
For example, if VB was so great when they first started peddling it why are they now onto C#?
The i386 was pretty fuckin great in its day, wonder why they bothered moving on from there?

RTFWS - you have to complete an application form to be included on their list.
They want their article back.
That's somewhat odd, even for /.

the CEO thinks he is sharper than he actually is
Obviously. Loading trial software (and the OS, at that!) on your sole laptop, then jetting off to South America is really, really asking for trouble.

Frames suck, and you deserve to cause problems if you use them.
