I got a Sony Clie TH55. It's got NetFront 3.1 as its default webbrowser. That work fine for websites, considering the small size of the screen ofcourse.
I don't know if older Clie's didn't come with a webbrowser as default, but the new ones certainly have one.
1: Mozilla for browsing the web, 2: Mozilla mail as email client, 3: Openoffice for all your office needs, 4: Irfanview for viewing pictures, 5: Mediaplayerclassic for your avi/mpg/wmv files, 6: Gaim for chatting, 7: Free agent for your newsgroups, 8: XP powertoys - Tweakui installed, to that you can change some essential XP settings, 9: Antivir as your antivirus tool, 10: Zone Alarm to protect your machine a bit more.
Reboot a Psion 5? What are you talking about? I've never had to reboot a Psion 5. The only problem with these things is hardwarefailure due to user error, ie dropping it on a concrete floor.
Epoc is the most stable OS I've ever used. And as an organizer a Psion has one of the best usable aganda/database/spreadsheet applications, compared to other organizers (Palm/pocketpc).
If you are still running NT4, you probably are too busy (or lazy) to update security patches anyway. NT4 needs to DIE. If you prefer the Windows platform, you've had ample time to move to 2K, or else another platform.
Actually some systems still run NT4 because they have a job to do. These might be important jobs and upgrading is a pain in the ass because of all the customized software on the machine. MS marketing promised a solid OS, that's why the end-user choose NT4 to do the jobs. It is easy to laugh now in hindsight, but some customers will remind MS of its promises and draw conclusions from the answers that MS gives.
There are still alot of NT4 machines out there. And they are in places where you'll never expect them.
Use telnet and screen capture the VT100 Term buffer!
That's not funny. I still use this method on occasion. And this is in big industrial environments...
When your toolset is limited, you have to be a bit creative to get the job done.
Is anybody still using Yahoo then? In internet time Yahoo is almost a dinosaur, Google is the warm blooded animal that has almost overtaken the whole world.
An advice to Yahoo: do something!! Don't just sit there being a website with pretty links, that doesn't cut it anymore these days...
I want a good keyboard... And I want a good sync mechanism. Wireless ofcourse. And the PDA should have a proper multitasking OS, like EPOC for example.
Ever tried to keep a Psion 5MX, a Palm 3c and a Nokia 6210 in sync? Don't even bother to hook it up to the shared outlook calender and contact folders at the office. Too many times the programs that are "supposed" to work f*ck up. Don't forget that the above mentioned PDA's/phones are my tools. I want to _USE_ them, I don't want to tinker/play with them all day.
On 2nd thought, maybe the new Nokia 9290 series is the way to go. It is at this moment the only alternative with a keyboard. And that is what I need for fast data entry..
Windows already had this problem

Solaris had it, I think upto Solaris 2.4, after exactly 2^31-1 ticks. That's 248 days 13 hours, and a few minutes. It is very strange to see a bunch of SUN machines suddenly freeze....
The highest point in the Netherlands is 322meter (1056 feet for the imperialists) according to the CIA world fact book. It is not that flat. lol.
Great. And who will keep these clever systems up and running 24h * 365days? And who will troubleshoot it when it malfunctions?
The more complicated the systems are the more people are needed to keep it running.

Switch off HTML formating for Outlook.

I don't know what you have been smoking, but it must be pretty good shit...
On a more serious note: I think (I hope..) that they have an airgap as a firewall between the outside world and the machines that do the actual work.
Strapping a drive to the back of a CPU board with ty-wraps is not my idea of building a small server. But whatever floats your boat...
Damn, if i'd had 2 billion dollar I wouldn't need Google. I'd had some naked petrified girls doing all the searching for me...

Been there done that. In a Psion 5, years ago...
And it is a nice feature to have.

400 spam emails in the period of 2-apr upto 12 - apr. That's 40 a day. My spamfilters can cope with that, but it is annoying.
What I don't understand is how it is financially still possible. Someone has to pay the bill for the used bandwidth/server usage..
Ouch. The dutch did not welcome the germans with open arms.
And even worse: don't compare us to the french. That is a real insult.

This is just in time... Are there any flash upgradable MP3 players out that can take advantage of this??
