The entire selling point of Windows is that its easier to use than the other guy's. If you have to "properly" train someone to use an alternative, then the alternative becomes less attractive.
Lets not kid ourselves. CS is for all intents and purposes, programming. There's only a few decades left for humans to be interested in CS in the first place because when the first AI is developed, it will be able to program itself and other computers from that point forward rendering human Computer Scientists obsolete.
If life really isn't about earning money so you can buy "stuff" then why go to college at all? Very few non-mentally impaired people in the US are actually starving. All you need is a steady minimum wage job, move to a low cost of living area and you're set to just enjoy "life"....right?

A state of anarchy is anything but freedom. When there are no laws, no one is free. Everyone is a prisoner to the chaos the roving bands make. The Amry Reserve and National Gaurd units are just shorter period terms of our much larger standing military. They would be worthless without the overall military structure we currently have. We would be unable for example to maintain long term foreign posts with only a citizen-army. The weekend warriors have their place, but they're just not as good as professional soldiers.

Anyway back to the discussion, so everyone is supposed to be some sort of citizen soldier instead of letting a standing Army specialize in it? How the US originally functioned is pretty irrelevant to how it functions today. Most people don't want to go thru a drill sargeant so they can be "ready for anything" at any time.
Let me put it another way. Lets say you were the enemy. And you had a choice between a full time professional military and a citizen-soldier militia. Which one would you want to fight against?
Ok so one lone Libertarian can defend against one loan bad guy. But what if a group of say 100 bad guys decides to take over? If a band of libertarians band together to stop them, haven't they in effect reformed a government? No? Because it would only be a one time thing? Do you really think the bad guys would only form a group JUST ONE TIME? The Libertarians would be forced to maintain an ever-ready police/army force for defense. Hence conventional government.
Can't you see that the real problem with anarchy is that out of every anarchy, a heirarchy will eventually form as people get tired of being aimless without centralized leadership?
Ok about the "local currency" thing. Why do you want people to have to learn a new way of handling money? Do you think people like having to think about how much their money is worth and who will accept it?
Culturally the major nations of the UN, such as those in Western Europe, predate the US by thousands of years. But if you count their current forms of government, they're actually younger than the US. Especially Germany and France.
I use Quicken Deluxe on my desktop and Pocket Quicken on my Palm OS Treo 600. Having a portable version of Quicken enables me to enter in new transactions much more reliably than waiting at the end of the day when I get home. The two programs sync perfectly.
Then you hit the real world and realize that no parent in the history of huamnity has ever spent so much time with their child without causing it to be dysfunctional upon reaching adulthood.
It is painfully obvious that the sites like Bangbus are FAKE and not real rape sites simply by the fact that everyone's face is shown and if there was any *REAL* rape going on no one would stupid enough to incriminate themselves worldwide.
So you have a problem with people who like to "pretend rape" which is harmless? How can you possibly know what kinds of fantasies your children will harbor? Lots of people harmlessly engage in roleplay on a regular basis then go back to regular lives.

This is exactly why a lot of people cast open source users as unresasonably demanding. So what if you can't use RH Linux anymore? Is there any fucking shortage of distributions that you can still use? Can anyone even make a case that RH is the best choice?
