    OpenGL is just graphics. DirectX is a lot more...

    - 3D API (DirectGraphics)
    - Sound and 3D Sound API (DirectSound)
    - Network play API (DirectPlay)
    - MIDI and music API (DirectMusic)
    - Various drivers for Sound- and graphic-cards)

    I ran Win2k + MS Office 2K on a Pentium II 200Mhz with 96MB RAM and it worked perfectly.
    Booting took some time, but after that it ran flawlessly...

    This is completely wrong !

    Watcom C/C++ 10.6 includes MFC development and still supports OS/2 and DOS (both 16bit and 32bit)

    think efforts like Gnome and KDE that try to put in place a gigantic, sluggish infrastructure and try to force everything to use the same libraries are largely a waste of time and effort. Not even Microsoft or Apple are that consistent.


    KDE vs Windows architecture:

    DCOP vs. COM automation
    ActiveX controls vs. Kparts
    Qt vs. MFC
    aRts vs. DirectShow

    Yes, Microsoft tries to make things consistent too ! (But KDE does a better job :p )

    There is a law, which specifically says that your religious beliefs come first.

    What if my religion says that I must kill all people that I don't like ??

    I'm not trolling, but I find it sad that everyone has to copy Windows (Microsoft copied Apple, which copied Xerox, blah, blah).

    Because everybody knows how to use Windows.

    Why can't someone come up with a new UI paradigm that works better?

    Now I keep hearing this alot. What is a "new UI paradigm" ?? Personally, The "click-with-the-mouse-on-a-window"-paradigm works pretty well for me.
    What would be a better system ? Please enlighten me...

    Don't like Flash-sites ? Don't visit flash-sites! But you can't force someone to change his site because YOU don't like it.

    PS : the comparison between a web-designer and the MPAA is just plain stupid...

    No ! Why everybody keeps thinking that SWF is a non-open format ?!

    Would you guys ever inform yourself before making stupid and false remarks : SWF is an open format !

    check openswf.org.

    The intermediate *.FLA files are closed formats, but you don't need them to generate Flash content.

    Now how long will it take before I get modded down for making a correct statement...

    The G4 has less tranistors because it's a RISC processor (wich has fewer instructions -> less transistors).

    Intel x86 series are CISC processors (more instructions -> more transistors).
