  1. not really? on Microsoft's GPL IPv6 Web Server. Not Really. · · Score: 2

Why does it say "not really"? How is this not really releasing a GPL IPv6 Web Server? Just because it isn't shipping with windows 2000 doesn't mean it isn't out there in the wild. I think this is great! It IS gpl'd and it IS microsoft.

Someone is probably about to get fired tho when the higher ups get wind of this.

I have written an application that links with many different components, that have different licenses. I am very confused as to what licensing requirments are placed on my program. Can you please tell me what licenses I may use?
    -
To answer this question, we would need to see a list of each component that your program uses, the license of that component, and a brief (a few sentences for each should suffice) describing how your library uses that component.

This is just silly. For a lot of these little programs peoplem ay as well just post their source and say "have at it!".

I'm hoping that you're joking, but a lot of people actually have this attitude. Spend four years in highschool, get angry about being oppressed, get out of highschool and don't do anything abut it. When I was in school, and I was bitching to my dad about losing constutional rights, being forced to do things I didnt want, etc. he said "I felt the same way at your age." Problem is, he got out of school and tried to put it behind him! Thats why 40 years later the same old shit (and now this new shit) still happens! Compulsory education is wrong. Its run by facists, and it doesnt teach. School dumbs kids down. Outdated textbooks ramble on about irrelevent bullshit while kids could be learning something useful. I'm now employed doing website work, and I can honestly say that the last few years I was in school I didn't learn anything that I'm using now except distrust for authority.

Sure, a regulation like this might stop a couple jackasses from sending nasty anonymous letters, but for the most part people will be able to get around it. Ditto for censor-ware. Regardless of if you think its a good idea or not, its always a moot point because it is impossible to implement. For instance, at the local HS the censorware knows to block anonymizer domains and IP's. But, type in the decimal address ( http://3626169565/http://www.somethingdirty.com/ ) for the proxy and it slips right thru. (the decimal address won't work on macs...).
