    I completely agree. I've also been a vehement Piers Anthony fan since very young. His perversion is a facinating element in his books, which I feel greatly expands the depth of his writing. It is neither malicious nor derogatory, and therefore merely serves the purpose of showing us yet another interesting point of view, albeit demented... :)

    Am I [missing|misunderstanding] something, or was this the best f-ing business deal ever?!?!? 5-bill worth of satilites for 25-mill already paid off by 72-mill, so they got 5-bill for paying -47 mill?
    I know there should be huge maininence costs, but they have 47-mill to do it with... damn.
    Maybe I just like saying [mill|bill] :)

    Great point! It has the likelyhood of inhibiting peoples' legitimate traffic, which denies their rights to free speech.

    Cool idea, (reminds me of recent posts concerning ANTS or mini-sattellites..) but the majority of the threat to earth is the undetected ones. perhaps we could use the ANTS to go out searching... land... collect data and then launch to find others. (or even as you suggest, leave a tiny transmitter behind, i'm thinking single chip action with a solar panel... very cheap and small :)

    Yep, pretty much the whole thing... except Tarentella, and the original SCO will be changing their name to that. However, I have no idea of Caldera's plans for OpenServer, which is SCO's basic UNIX... It looks like Caldera just wants SCO's server market share, so they can pass off their Linux Hybrid. Dunno.

    Oh! I wasn't aware of that. That's despicable considering you must license per connection. We use a standard Metaframe here w/ ICA client, which I think is pretty trick. My only N-Fuse exp. was the demo on the website which impressed me. Sorry. I cannot agree with you more about the lack of reliability, however, since it's primary basis is NT Terminal server. Which I think is rather despicable.

    Also, on the management side, They just love using it for things it's not meant for... (i.e. half-assed vpn's and launching terminal sessions to WAN servers that can accessed just as easily as the Citrix box. :)

    But, is it not better than .NET? heheh. (just more stuff I like to talk about despite my lack of knowlege. :)

    Sorry about that. I agree partially. Have you seen Citrix's N-Fuse? A Browser is all you need. But that brings you a client of some sort which is a Multi-Purpose User Interface. Referring to a user interface as an 'OS' is lame. Just because the OS is somewhere else, doesn't mean there isn't one. 'Workstation OS' may be more accurate.

    As the Open Source Movement(tm) has shown, the community will likely prove to be more efficient in finding and fixing bugs than this group will. It's that whole mental distributed processing thing. Hopefully, they'll just end up looking like a bunch of lames.

    (I know nothing of coal mining, so correct me if i'm wrong. but if not, then hasn't the land already lost it's pristine nature?)

    Please don't get me wrong, I'm glad he secured more forests from devestation. But I think we have to consider the benefit for the rest of the world by using cleaner coal from an already touched eco-system.

    I get quite frustrated with the media's attitude toward things like this. TECHNOLOGY BLITZ!!! Not news. I can make a robot like that out of my TI-86 and some extra comp. parts. Oh, wait, I still have that Z-80 too... But anyway, this is just another lame rant without much point other than i love robots, and hate 'The News'. :)

    If a company has exclusive rights to research something that has the potential to affect us all, we should ALL be able to sue them for impeding our ability to 'pursue happiness', is that not in the Constitution? Perhaps they are not the best ones to conduct the research (for the interests of humanity) and the patent prevents anyone else from doing so, potentially hurting all of humanity. Talk about a 'class action' lawsuit!

    You know, it's shit like this lawsuit that makes me almost want to be a racist so I could impose myself upon the people suing. (As they think everyone is doing already. I feel like that old quote from Dad: "I'll give you something to cry about!) Perhaps it's just an overall hate towards self-riteous people imposing themselves upon others. Just some rantin'...
