You can complain about Windows and Microsoft all you want, but at least they let you install their software on any hardware you want. Apple wants to control you from the motherboard up, marking up their products to ridiculous prices for overrated hardware. They do it with computers, iPod, iPhone, everything.
The first down-mod from a Mac lover will just be further evidence of the truth.
You are leaving out the fact that untill about a year ago Calironia was actually run by Republicans. With the exception of the bay area and LA, California actually votes republican (not saying Democrats are any better, just pointing out the data).
Put down the crack pipe. The California state legislature has been Democrat since I can remember. The last time their electoral college went to a Republican was 1988. Schwarzenegger was the Governor, but he was far from being a right-winger and often called a RINO. Except for a small 2 year period, Democrats have controlled the State Senate for years. And LA and the Bay Area make up a majority of the POPULATION of California. Not necessarily the land area.
This doesn't apply at all to Apple putting business locations in other states like Nevada to avoid paying California taxes.
Yes, they do this. So what?
I don't care where their offices are. Every company does this. Just look at the DC area. Drive around the Maryland side and it's mostly trees, some buildings but not too many. Drive around the Virginia side and there's corporate headquarters after corporate headquarters. The difference? Taxes on personal income, businesses, and property is lower in Virginia.
I was only pointing out that if Forbes was hoping to make some sort of solid argument, they failed miserably by addressing half of the issue and ignoring the other half.
Forbes didn't even read the original article. This doesn't apply at all to Apple putting business locations in other states like Nevada to avoid paying California taxes. This only addresses half of the issue, the Federal business tax rate that Apply pays.
So based on at most 50 years of satellite observation, out of the 4.5 BILLION years our planet has been around, the ice is "below" normal? If the history of the Earth was the movie "The Avengers," then we have been monitoring polar ice for a grand total of.00000953 minutes. (143*50/4,500,000,000) So watch that last.00000953 minutes and write a review of the movie. Is it a romance? Action? Good? Bad? You would know nothing about the movie. Just like we know NOTHING about climate patterns. We have a vague and circumstantial understanding from a very limited data set.
Again how is more snow show that the warming trend is wrong?
You see, snow is little chunks of frozen water. In order for water to become snow, it has to be cold. As you can see from satellite imagery, in an article that I attempted to get onto/., Bearing Sea ice has set records in regards to how much is there and how long it has been around. Again, the global warming fanatics prevented the article from making it on the front page.
Actually Alaska had the most snow ever recorded, since they started keeping records. Alaska during the winter is 2012 is what I would call an "inconvenient fact" for the global warming alarmists.
To help pay off the deficit, the TSA is now offering lead-lined paper bags to cover your face when going through the strip search machine. At an affordable $15 a piece, it is a small price to pay for privacy.
If they own the antenna's and repeaters, then it is their property and they should be able to shut it down when they want. Just like I can turn off my Air Conditioning whenever I want, because I pay for it. Somebody else cannot come into my house and tell me "turn your AC on."
However, if this wireless infrastructure is owned by another entity (cell phone providers), then the government has no legal authority to turn it off. When I was working in downtown DC, all the old building had cell phone repeaters on the roof because of the poor signal through marble. Those repeaters were owned by the phone companies, and the phone company actually paid the government to allow them to install the mini-towers there. If there is a similar arrangement on the BART system, then the phone company is effectively leasing part of the area inside the trains to operate their equipment. If the lease says the government can turn it off, then they can. If there is no such provision in the lease, we should be mad at the service providers.
The problem is a bunch of entitled, snotty little kids that believe the internet is a fundamental human right, who want everything handed to them on a silver platter. Everything is a right these days. A college education is not one of those. The same people claiming to "work" for their education are the same ones who racked up $100,000 in loan debt for an English degree and demanding that all student loan debt be forgiven.
Yeah, I went to college. I did night classes over 8 years in the Army, still doing night classes while working full time. I could stop working and use my GI Bill, like thousands of people do. Their college funding was earned by actually doing something.
Bullcrap. I know plenty of people who made it through college without a single student loan. There are grants, scholarships, GI Bill, etc. Instead of asking the government to give an education to them, these people actually work for it and earn it.
If the FBI was actually able to hire the best and the brightest, then there would be no no need for a "wiretap-friendly" software. Social networking sites are the easiest. VoIP, IM, and E-mail is just a matter of Wireshark and the proper filters applied.
Maybe they need to put up some job advertisements on/.
Your first sentence is exactly why research like this is necessary. Prospective football players have every right to know exactly what they'll be risking if they play. And while no one is forcing them to play, the US does have a policy of banning certain activities for the detrimental effects on willing participants.
It doesn't take research to realize that a full-contact sport in which 200+ lbs people run into each other while sprinting down a field can cause brain injury. That's like saying "running into a concrete wall while driving 60 MPH can cause brain injury." Or "inhaling toxic chemicals can cause brain injury."
Any Football player that gets into the sport should know the risks involved. When your job is to play a full-contact sport, injuries happen. That's why they get multi-million dollar contracts. Their safety gear is all excellent, but even the best protection does not prevent every injury.
Nobody is forcing them to play the game. They can walk away at any time. They can sit behind a desk at ESPN and make jokes. They can buy a log cabin and live like a hermit.
It isn't that hard for him to get to Andrews AFB. The Presidential helicopters are constantly flying, as any Washington DC Beltway commuter sees. When the same type of helicopter is flying in and out of the base every few hours, it makes it easy to cover his tracks.

How the Zombie Apocalypse starts
In California, laws can be made by referendum - direct voting by the people, who voted to keep their money and to hell with the school systems.
Shame on the citizens of California who decided to keep their hard-earned money!!! No donuts for California!

Two smart court rulings in the same state in the same month? Hell must have frozen over and changed it's name to "Fluffy Bunny"

Nope, Bender. He already tried to win the DC School Board elections. But now we know he started in the Bronx!

Damn right it is. The GI Bill is earned. Government aid is social engineering.

The only winning move is not to play.
Yeah, ignore the $40,000/year in tuition that they don't have to pay. Just because they don't receive a paycheck doesn't mean they are not paid.

Nobody makes them play football. They can watch TV and play Madden all year. If they want to put themselves at risk, let them.
