What if I want to hide my computer behind private IP for security? These boneheads don't want computer savvy people as customers, they want computer dolts that can't keep their machines virus and trojan free and cost them money!

I operate a bunch of computers behind a NAT, SPI firewall on a cable modem connection with anti-virus and my own DNS server! I'm their smallest liablity since I don't stress their DNS servers, I trouble-shoot my own problems (their tech support sucks anyway) and I pay my monthly bill.

They should want more customers like me; not less.

SCREW YOU! I worked my ass off in high-school taking college prep courses, AP computer science, and Calculus I so that I could do well on my SATs and get college loans!

I paid for college with loans and I am still paying for college. It was hard as hell; I did 3 years in EE before switching to CS. A "golden elevator" didn't give me a high-school diploma, a college degree, or my current job...I HAD TO WORK MY ASS OFF FOR THEM AND SO DID MY CLASSMATES AND CO-WORKERS!

I am offended that because I am successful, some people assume that my parents gave me everything or that I didn't work for it. The path to success isn't a "golden elevator" it's a rickety wooden ladder....you've got to climb it yourself!

The bottom line is that HP needs to get rid of Fiorina and put an Engineer-CEO in her place. Intel ran into similar problems about 2 years ago when marketing and business people started directing the company instead of engineers. Non-engineers will always have a hard time running a technology company because they don't have the technical ability to concentrate on innovative, high-quality products.

HP board of directors take my advice. Dump Fiorina and sell that stupid aircraft she bought with your money, and put an Engineer in charge of that company.

Many will argue that bad software isn't life threatening, and therefore doesn't require stiff penalites, I say baloney! If the firmware that controls the hydraulic systems on an aircraft fails in flight you probably won't survive. If your database on your e-commerce site gets hacked due to a "buffer overflow" error, and all your credit cards get out on the web, shouldn't someone be held liable for the damages...or are we going to let the insurance industry just mop up the dammage and pay for it with higher premiums.
